I've always gone to this Les Schwab for tires, etc. A couple of years ago I had a brake job done on my mini van- car wasn't ready till close of business. So I picked up my van and drove to work. Midway there smoke started filling the front of the van and fellow drivers on the freeway started honking and pointing at my front tie. I pulled over and flames were coming out of my wheel well. Thankfully I had a fire extinguisher. Les Schwab stated the brake had stuck causing the fire.

Well, I mistakenly advised my young daughter to take her car for brakes on Feb 17, 2007.
1) Her bill was higher than quoted. When she proved to the store manager that his employee lied about trying to reach her because of increased cost- there was no apology. Though he finally gave her the quoted price.
2) the job didn't finish till the store closed
driving down the street, she noticed that the brake was pulsating and when she tried to brake, it almost pulled the steering wheel out of her hands. She pulled over and called the store. Their answer- too bad too sad their closed for the next three days, just be careful driving it and bring it in Tuesday.

Their mechanic also tried to lie and say the car had been doing this on arrival but the kid who drove the car into the shop denied this false report.

So, now my dsughter can't work unless she rents a car ( she transports kids for the state and must have a fully reliable car)or has to absorb the cost of three days of missed work.

On top of this, again its a lousy brake job from this shop, no apologies, no accountability and apparently a manager who supports unethical employees.

Suggestion- Unless customer service improves AVOID THIS SHOP For ANY brake work

Kudos to Hertzel for making the employee apologize for lying! And for taking care of everything! What a credit to his profession, and what a great manager! I hope that the employee learned a valuable business as well as personal lesson.

Ok- I'll give them another chance , but only because of their manager Hertzel.
Finally- someone who still understands a managers job and customer care. This guy not only listened toour complaints/concerns , he also immediately apologized for the problems we encountered, got the repair done promptly and had the mechanic who lied apologize tomy daughter. WOW- a real manager who still promotes true customer service.... I thought that breed was a myth!!!While there may be still be a problem with their brake dept. if you have a problem, don't waste time, go straight to this manager.
