Complaint Review: Lester Remodeling & Design

This contractor provided us with a contract to refinish our entire basement for $22,000 in labor and we would pay for materials.  He finished half the basement after $16,000 of payments to him and then came back to us and told us it would actually be $37,000, not $22,000.  We tried to negotiate with him as we understand that additional costs come up when working on an old house, even offering 75% of the increase he was asking, and he still said no and now has completely walked off the job, leaving us with a half-finished basement.  After repeated requests he could not support the $15,000 of additional cost he was asking for.
