I ordered a cell phone from letstalk.com back in early 2009, and re-newed my cellphone contract with my service provider. In renewing through letstalk.com and purchasing the specific phone, I was entitled to a $100 rebate -- provided I followed their instructions, i.e., mail in rebates in specific time frame, and include all documentation. I complied.
After several months on waiting for my rebate to arrive, and contacting their on-line customer service, I still had not heard anything. So I called their customer service department. Much to my dismay, their customer service said that I was not eligible for a rebate as per their records, I had mailed in the rebate too late and thus ineligible. However, I know for a fact that I had sent in the rebate with plenty of time as I remember specifically mailing the rebate form at the post office, and making sure it had a post mark date.
This is completely unethical as to what they are doing. I have ordered from them a few times in the past, and was planning on doing so again, but will not do so ever again in the future. They have lost me as a customer, and I will definitely not recommend them to anyone I know who want to order a new cellphone/upgrade a service.
