This gentleman was married to a friend of mine who is a well established singer. While married, the two of them ran a karaoke set up as well as did some live shows. She was the talent. He handled the lighting and sound. Since divorcing, he is refusing to quit using HER name with his last name on his web page. His web page claims he has been in the music industry for 25 years and has handled artists like Yanni. These are all lies! The only artist he ever handled was his now ex-wife who is now on her own under her maiden name. This man is a con-artist.

I know for a fact that before he had married his now ex, he had nothing to do with the music business. Although he is continuing to run the karaoke, he should not be able to make false claims to "entise" young artists to hire him as a producer OR a publisher. He has no other experience than what I have stated and anyone who gives him money to produce their album or publish their songs will get ripped off! If he wants to run karaoke, he has the right to do that. But making false claims about his music experience on a website should not be legal. Someone can and most likely will get hurt.

Your complaint only tells one side of the story. As for LeVan Music, he acquired the rights to the name 'Coco Levan' after she left the company and can continue to use it at his discretion. Legally she cannot. Just because he has the right to use it doesn't mean he should. Personally, the name sounds like a stripper rather than a serious artist.

Your friend promotes herself as a "Nashville star" because she claims to have sang at the Grand Ole Opry and with Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner some years ago. Your friend now only performs in small clubs around the midwest and obscure clubs when in Nashville. Does that really rise to the level of "Nashville star"? She does not perform on a major circuit either in Nashville or the Midwest. She may know smaller players on the Nashville circuit but there is no such thing as star by association.

As for the history for the company written on the website, your friend had just as much influence when writing it as did her ex as they originally ran the company together. If it is embellished, who embellished it? She continues to claim "Nashville star." What does he claim? He runs karaoke, DJ services, and is working to revive the live entertainment. He has an excellent reputation in the places where he is established and continues to build his base. There are no lawsuits or accusations except from his now ex-wife and her friends.
