In May, 2002, a representative of LFG Leasing convinced me that my business could use a credit card machine. I knew the lease was 48 months and was told that the machine would be mine after the lease payments were made.

The lease period was over May, 2006, but LFG continued to draft my account. To date, I have paid $2,607 for equipment that could have been purchased for approximately $1000. Adding insult to injury, LFG representative now state that I must pay for the equipment, upgrade the equipment, or pay a month to month lease with no end date in sight.

Leasing equipment is a way for many small businesses to get started. The machine certainly helped my business grow which is a good thing. The way that LFG operates is unethical. Any company that will hire and train its staff to fabricate some details and overlook others to sell a product should be investigated by the Attorney General. The scope of this scam is enormous.

Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy. Governmental agencies with the responsibility to preserve and protect small businesses against such flagrant abuse should come down on this company with a hammer.

Many small businesses are owned by people for whom English is a second language. LFG is very aware of that, exhibiting FLAGRANT LACK OF CONCERN for ethical business practices.
