Back in November I purchased a an LG item and filled out and mailed in a $20 mail-in rebate form along with everything required according to the form (receipt, UPC code, etc)  to this LG Rebate aka Advertising Checking Bureau operation.  The rebate was supposed to take 6-8 weeks to implement.Early January I get something in the mail saying my claim was denied because no receipt was included (not true).  I called and spoke to them on the phone and after speaking to them, I submitted another version of the receipt (instead of the email confirmation, I this time logged in to the website where I made the purchase, printed out the transaction report, and faxed it in).I just called them again and spoke to a female who the entire time sounded like she was chewing on a chicken wing or something.  She stated that the claim was recently accepted and to allow up to 10 weeks to process. Yes, another 10 weeks.  So in April I'll be (possibly/hopefully) getting the $20 rebate I applied for in November.  All this work for a $20 mail-in rebate.  I suspect many companies rely on the cumbersome nature of rebates to diminish the number of times that they are actually processed (thereby saving money by not having to pay them out).  I have a feeling this "Advertising Checking Bureau" specializes in doing this and is likely contracted out for this very reason. What a farce.
