I received a letter from LHR, Inc in april, 2005 about a dept I owed to Nafco account for more than $9 thousands something.

I called them and told them I don't believe I owe this dept. They told me that it was a car loan that I had.

As far as I remember I don't owe them anything because I gave the car back.

I put down $3,000. drove off with the car.

I had problems with the car from day one since I bought.
I got tired of paying more than my payment a month to fix the car it didn't make sence so after few months going back and forth with the dealership they told me that everything is fine.

Until the car broke down on me on the busy freeway during rush hour, so I went to the dmv to run a report, come to find out it was a lemmon. So I called the dealership to pick up the car because it's a lemmon I could've gotten to an accident that day. They said no and denied it was a lemmon so we argue back and forth and finally they said ok they will take care of everything and that was that. This same dealership went bk a few months later and this was 1997 in California..I didn't hear anything from them about anything I owe.

Now 8yrs later this letter pop-up. I'm married now lived in tx for 4yrs middle of this month. Bought a house now we have for 2yrs.

LHR Calling harassing me to pay up and I told them I don't owe this dept.

Now they are threating to put a lien on the house, I told him you can't do that and he said yes he can. Under texas property law. I told him he still can't do that because I had it when I was single at the same time I was scared because my husband work so hard for us to buy this house. I told him I'll send money order but he wouldn't accept it well than your outta luck. I just hung up on him. I still believe I don't owe them. I send them a ceise to desist letter in May,2005

They kept calling but now they pretend to be lawyers 1-3 sec and then their counselor again so I told them not to call me no more. If they want to talk to me do it in writing.

But they still calling...Now their saying if I don't pay, theres gonna be a judgement against me.

I was thinking if this is the car loan under california statue of limitation is expired already..

Don't Pay Them

Do NOT pay them a penny. It will re-age the debt.

The Statute of Limitations is expired, they bought this debt for pennies, and are trying to collect on a non-existant account. You need to send them a ceast and desist letter certified mail. Check your credit report and make sure they aren't trying to report this.
