Liberty Benefits LLC ripped me off
I was taken for $241.00!!!!!
In mid October I received a mailing offering me a 6% interest rate, with a credit limit of 4,000. I did the math, and although I was skeptical I took the risk because I stood to save a substancial amount on my other cards by transferring the balances to this one.
When I called the 800# I was very reluctant to authorize a deduction from my checking account, however I probed the operator thoroughly and she had all the right answers.
After 2 months with no card, I called again but was told that a new promotion, for another company was underway and that I would have to call Liberty Benefit's customer service line for assistance. He gave me the 800# to call and apologized for not being able to help me.
The customer service operator told me there was a 30 day delay due to an unexpected surge in demand and that if I did not have my card in 30 days to call again.
I argued with this woman for a while, became vulgar and demanded a cancellation on my order (My original intent was to use the card for Christmas purchases and I was calling Dec 20) I finally hung up on the incompetent woman and told her as
(She insisted she WAS the manager when I requested to speak with one)
Shortly after I hung up, another call came through my phone line, the caller ID said "private" and it was the same woman threatening to press charges on me for swearing at her.
I called back and was told that was impossible because their systems are not set up to make outgoing calls.
I called today, for the obvious last time, and the numbers have been deactivated.
