Complaint Review: Liberty Financial Corporation

I am filing this for my neighbor and friend. She recieved the letter in the mail dated July 21, 2008. Unfortunately before talking to anyone else, she cashed the check. She called the number indicated and was told to send the money to an address in Vancouver to a Regina Martin. Her bank has taken all her money and she now has to pay back the cashed check. She did not send the money to the person because she thought it was a downpayment towards the 125,000 she was "winning".

I have been a scam baiter for years and this is a common scam by many in Nigeria. They do have links to many in Canada. I personally recieved a check for over 80,000 written on an account here in the states but it came to me from Canada. I knew what I was getting from them and called the company on the check to let them know their account had been compromised. I would suggest that anyone recieving checks like this should do the same. DO NOT CASH. Four days after the first check my friend recieved another check in the mail from another company doing the same thing. They see a sucker and they go for it to the max. Please be aware of these scams and pass it on. Most information they get is from the internet..that's how they get your address.
