I got a gift certificate from these people so that I could get my taxes prepared for free. (Which is why I went to them.) I ordered the RAL account with them cause it was the fastest and cheapest way to get my money back, well the joke was on me. I got my money in 2 days like they said but they failed to mention everytime you slide that stupid card for debit or credit they card $1.00,

everytime you take money from an ATM they said it won't charge as long as there's no surcharge, they don't charge that's another lie. (they take $2.00) If you call on the phone to get your balance or a text message of your balance it's $.50. My advice stick to HR block they did my taxes last year I got my money the same day with now secret fee. These people are terrible.

I don't work at the one you are complaining about, but I do work for corp and run several offices. First, I do agree the cards are a scams, but I believe that of all those prepaid debit cards. They were launched this to test the market since so many people like prepaid cards. Your "gift certificate" is a Liberty Card, which is a private label prepaid debit card.

Here is a list of why you can not complain about the cards:
1. You should have asked for details and cost of the program before agreeing to anything
2. Offices are supposed to have flyers about the program out, if you don't see some, use your head and ask for some material
3. There is a whole little book you get with every card that explains all fees and programs available with the card and how to switch to a different program
4. There is a sticker on the card that tells you to go the liberty card website (and gives the address) to change your plan and view details of your card and program.
5. I can go on, but don't have all day to do so.

Basically, the fees are your fault for NOT asking questions and getting all the program details before agreeing to accepting the card. They are all set by the card issuer (NetSpend) All offices were issued cards and materials and were instructed to promote, which my office avoided doing because we know our clients and know these cards were bad for them.

In conclusion, don't be ignorant and just sign things. Make sure you understand what you are getting into first.

If you fell for not looking into the program before signing up I have some great credit cards I would to sign you up for and I would also like to sell you a deed to my interest in the White House.
