Liberty Tax Service Jay Rasmussen did not live up to their written guarantee. He is the person who did my taxes Tucson, Arizona
Liberty Tax Service (franchised) prepared my federal income tax for the year 2009.
I was notified by the IRS that I owed them $1710.00 for 2009
They (Jay Rasmussen) put an item in the wrong place. He admitted to it.
He stated that they would pay me the interest, penalities and what I paid for their service for 2009.
I have been down to their offices every Monday as that is the only day they are opened since it is not tax season.
Mr. Rasmussen has not responed to numerous phone calls or e-mails.
I have set up a payment plan with the IRS, but I need the monies promised to me so I can pay them off sooner.
I am retired and on a limited income.
I need your help as I do not know what to do next.

Thank you so much for your posting. I was surprised to find it here since you have not only been given money to cover the interest and penlites but also your tax preparation fees were refunded. I have the canceled check with your endorsement on it.
We are very thankful for your business and know you have been a customer for years. It was a reporting mistake and I was honored to file a free amendment on your behalf to remedy the situation. I was even willing to assist you in drafting a letter to the IRS explaining the error to have them suspend any interest and penlites, but you declined and stated you wanted to money. When we parted ways you stated you were satisfied once being given a check.
Please know we as a company and I as an individual are 100% committed to creating raving fans and honoring our Written Guarantee. In our many years of service, this was the first time anything like this has ever happened.
Please forgive me. I am ashamed it took so long for the two of us to connect at the office. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any additional service.

Sorry to hear of the preparers error, and your misfortune. All you or Liberty tax service had to do is file and ammended return. Then you wouldnt owe the Irs anything. Im surprised they did not suggest that. You can still do one. hope this helps

Liberty Tax will not pay you a dime, you will have to take them to court and sue them...
They do not stand behind any written guarantee, they are the worst company to do business with.
