I filed my taxes with Liberty Tax for the second year in a row, not knowing that they messed my taxes up last year and would do the same this year. When I had a meeting , the girl asked me if I recieved a stimulus check last year and I proceeded to tell her that no, I do not receive the stimulus checks because I owe money to Kent Trumbull campus, which I was told last year would intercept. I come to find out recently that only Federal institutions can intercept your taxes, which does not include colleges. Well, the girl puts in that I recieved $0 in stimulus, which the computer calculates that I was to get a $600 check. So she says that I will be recieving 2 checks. One for $749 and the other $600. I come to find out that they messed up big time. and now I will be getting only $455. BIG DIFFERENCE!!!

I called the Manager and got into a huge unprofessional arguement over the fact that they screwed up and now the money I was counting on, was not coming my way. He told me to tell him what his services were worth to him and I said $25 not even that really and he said he'd cut me a check ( which should have been $90-$25) A $65 check. What did I get in the mail? Another $25 check! WTF!!! I hate those people. Such idiot, unprofessionals. Any they had the nerve to send with that check, a coupon to refer a friend and then I could recieve another $20 for doing so. I wouldn't refer my worst enemy!

100% money back guarantee

You are entitled to a full refund based on the 100% guarantee. If you are unhappy for any reason at all, you get refunded by corporate and the Area Developer will make sure that happens for you.

The stimulus error was NATIONWIDE with all tax companies and the blame lies on the IRS. They were constantly changing the rules for whether they wanted the to let the checks come out on the refund or decide who is eligible theirselves once they file the original return. Therefore, all tax companies had to keep changing the options including all online tax softwares from 2009 as well. The terrible part is that by no expectation, the refunds were changed by the IRS after filed then everyone was surprised when checks printed. What should have happened is you get a full refund and offered a free certificate to get your taxes done this year and you would see it was just an isolated factor due to the IRS and their stimulus confusion.

In consideration of the IRS is the true blame, I can understand you were insulted by the message of the send a friend coupon with the incorrect balance being sent. I believe he intended you were happy with the resolution, and if so, please send a friend. Call him back, I am sure he would love to earn your business back after the stimulus confusion was reviewd over the summer. Hope this helps!! Truly no one had any control over the stimulus mispayment, but the 100% money back guarantee is meant for these times. Poor execution of a good faith attempt was a mistake and I am so sorry to hear you had anything but the best experience.

Unfortunatly anyone who has ever owned a business knows that you can not keep everyone happy all of the time, this being said, if anyone owes student loans , they will take your tax return money, there is no tax service that can change this fact.
So please dont blame others for your own inability to pay your bills.

The employee's of Liberty Tax Service offices are just as mad as you are. They are paid minimum wage and receive very little training. They are told just input the information and the owner will double check their work. I know this because a friend of mine use to work at one of the locations in Cincinnati.
