Complaint Review: Life Technician

This company, which I later came to know as, Life Technician scrambled my computer while I was surfing the Internet and had a message flashing on my screen informing me that my computer had been compromised and that my credit cards were at risk. A UK telephone number was advetised asking me to call this number immediately. Of course my computer was frozen and I was not allowed to continue browsing.  This happened with Internet Explorer.  I did not call them and I shut down the computer.  However, when I logged back on this message was still there and I could not do anything and it remained there for two days (I decided to use Google Chrome instead).  I decided to call the telephone number today and asked them how they came about my IP address. I was informed that it was because I had a Windows computer and that they were registered with Windows and that my credit cards details had been compromised and that is why the message was coming up on my screen.  I informed them that I was going to contact Windows to ask whether this was true and that I did not care for their support.  I also informed them that I will take the matter up with British Telecom and start legal proceedings against them for hacking into my computer if that message did not disappear the next time I logged on and ended the conversation.  When I logged back on the message had disappeared.  My only concern is that I do not know what else they have on my computer.  I have now filed a complaint with Windows and intend to take it up with British Telecom.  I want people to have the confidence to fight back at these unscrupulous companies like Life Technician who prey on people's insecurities to defraud them.  People need to have the confidence to tell them to go to hell and not part with their money.
