I joined LifeLock.com 1.5 years ago.  I bought into the propaganda commercials stating my identity will be guarded relentlessly and I will receive a call and text if any unusual activity against my SSN occurs at the big 3 credit agencies. I’M out of pocket $220.00 now.

In June 2013 I decided to join the housing market. In June and July my credit was ran 3 times and ultimately I purchased a home in August 2013. Now I have a multi-Hundred thousand dollar debt against my SSN and all 3 big reporting agencies and all solicitors know it, with exception to LifeLock.

I had full expectation to be contact by LifeLock after the first credit check. It is now Late August 2013 and I still have heard nothing. The thing is, I have received two emails from them stating “Good News – Your identity information remains unchanged” and the last one was just last week.

Imagine the serious problem I would be facing if this was fraud. This wasn’t a simple credit card purchase at Macys, it was a freaking home purchase.

I will be in contact for a full 2 year refund and I’m looking forward to the back peddling B.S. the customer service rep is going to toss my way.

DO NOT JOIN LIFELOCK.COM!!!!!!!!

I called LifeLock and reported that a home was purchased and gas for the home was purchased and 4 credit checks were done in the past month and neither my phone or text rang with lifelock on the other end.

The very nice fellow who helped me out verifiyed that "Unless you are an Ultimate member at $275.00 per year, we do not monitor your SSN at the credit bureaus"

In my opinion, the only way to monitor ID thieft is where it starts, at the credit agencys like Trans Union and Equifax. When you look at their home page and after you log in to your "personal home page", nowhere is it written that your ID is "not being monitored" and you need to upgrade to achieve this status. Rather they toss propeganda at you like "Relentless ID Protection" to make you believe you are being monitored.

A regular lifelock membership of $10.00/month enables you to give them all your SSN, credit card and bank accounts, and in return you get a password and "no credit monitoring".   $110.00 per yer to an organization that literally does nothing with the information. They should be shut down for fraud against the public.

So in conclusion: They refunded my entire 2 years payments, which is a good thing.

I set up a So Cal Gas account for the new home and they ran my credit with my SSN. Lifelock didn't call. So I'm wondering how far a thief can go until LifeLock calls. So far, if this were a thief, he would now own a home and have services, all fraudently while I'm left holding the bag.
