Lincoln Financial Group/Lincoln National Life Insurance Company With hands wide open, they collect your premiums. Ha, ha, the joke is on us! They have no intent to pay or process any claim! Omaha Nebraska
A word of warning to all individuals and companies who pay Lincoln Financial Group/The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company hefty premiums with the assumed assurance that in the case of a short-term and/or long-term health crisis, the individual who has paid for this benefit, by the sweat of his/her brow will be compensated as the Lincoln National proclaims!
Sorry, folks, ain't gone to happen! I have a disease called cervical dystonia. As it is rare, I fully expected my claim for short-term disability to be denied. I expected. though, that after the due process of appealing my case, I would receive the benefits due me, as per the policy promises that I purchased. (and paid for by the sweat of my brow)
So, this humoungous organization has taken my insurance premiums for 9 years, my employer's premiums for me for nine years, and all the premiums of you hard-workers out there who have purchased this policy, and they have laughed the whole way to the bank! 'Cause guess what folks, they have no intention of paying you if you are disabled!
Not only have they decided not to pay you, but somehow they think that they are above the law. Either by their claim, or by law, they have two days to send you a denial of your claim. I was denied once, on October 22, 2013 and then supposedly on January 2, 2014. I have yet to receive a written verification of either denial. Let me add here, that the claim representative that I have dealt with has been one of the laziest, most slovenly individuals that I have ever dealt with. This whole organization is a joke. I strongly recommend that any company who deals with this organization strongly examine where their employees hard-earned money is applied!
I have called and cajoled, but apparently, in their arrogance, the employees of Lincoln Financial account to no one. I definitely will file a complaint with the Insurance Commisioner of Georgia, and with all the large companies in the southeast who do business with this company, who thinks, for some reason, that they are above the law. Let it be noted here, that my husband works for one of the largest construction companies in the southeast, and they will also receive a copy of this complaint.
In a phone interview on December 20,2013, after my claim had sat on someone's desk at Lincoln Financial from November 15, 2013 (certified mail), I confirmed to Angela, the person handling my claim, that I could not drive due to the stiffness of my neck due to the dystonia, and the medications prescribed that would make it illegal for me to drive to the place of my employment. After leaving her a voicemail on January 3, 2014 and calling her AGAIN on December 8, 2014, she nonchalantly informed me that my claim had been denied because the specialist who had reviewed my case said that there was no additional information to support my claim.
Really? So, folks, this is what you will be dealing with in the event that you have a catostrophic event in your life. I doubt that anyone who is in good health will read this complaint, but I hope that some hungry lawyer, or some lawyer who has the needs of the afflicted implanted upon his or her heart read this complaint. In either case, please feel free to contact me at shawnwelsh7@gmail,com.
I have spoken my peace. Shame on all of you who profit from this atrocity!
