Lincoln Institute of Financial Education sold us on $10,000 real estate coaching then disappeared! Sandy Utah
On December 5, 2016, my husband and I had a sales call with a man by the name of Brandon Godfrey who stated he was from "Real Estate Investors for Life" a.k.a. REI for Life. This business is also associated with Lincoln Institute of Financial Education and Candace Pendleton-Batty.
Upon our agreement to sign up for their coaching services, we spent a total of $10,000 with the understanding that we would be receiving online training classes, phone coaching and access to financing for any properties we brought to them that fit their specifications. All of this would be done with the intent to flip homes and each party would profit as a result.
It became apparent a couple weeks in that there were some odd occurences. The first sign was that the "online trainings" were constantly being cancelled and no other attendees were showing up. My husband would sign into his weekly webinars only to find that no coaches were online, and nothing was happening. He had a few calls with his assigned coach, Candace, that went so poorly that he attempted to request a brand new coach from Brandon Godfrey. Mr. Godfrey never responded, but an email came from his "assistant" saying that his coach would continue to be Candace.
Candace later made some very suspicious statements saying that the company had made some bad investments, and they wouldn't be making any investments in properties that didn't fit their new requirements. They wanted to "wholesale" properties now, meaning the only way we could make any money is if we bought a home, AND brought the new buyer with us. This was the complete opposite of what we signed up for!!
Upon researching this organization further, and feeling completely duped, we learned that the training "portal" was registered by Candace the week of us signing up. The website didn't even exist until AFTER they took our money! We also couldn't find ANY information linked to REI for Life anywhere on the web, until we found that Lincoln Institue of Financial Education was the real name behind the business (which was clearly listed out in the fine print on a privacy statement).
AVOID this company at all costs, as they take thousands of dollars from unsuspecting people with no intent to actually fulfull the services promised!
