Complaint Review: Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP

We received a notice that the Northwest Parkway had referred an unpaid toll to Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson for collection. If we did not pay the $20 fine, "Northwest Parkway may add civil penalties of up to $250 per violation, plus court costs." We became suspicious when there was no reference to a license plate number, a date, or the location of the toll. We live across the country, had not been in Colorado for more than a year, and knew the car had been junked months ago. When I tried to check out the website, I notice that the domain name was for sale. Somehow, these fraudsters obtained old records from the Northwest Parkway, and I suspect that they are sending out hundreds of these letters in order to either get many small payments, or to obtain credit card or bank info.
