The Hunger Games demolished the competition this weekend box office with a $214.3 million global debut. Sadly, there are plenty of scoundrels out there already cashing in by producing fake merchandise and selling fake autographs of the stars of the movie online on websites like Ebay, Craigslist, Amazon, etc.  I want to mention a crook who is trying double cross people with forging a full cast The Hunger Games posters on a previous sale on Ebay and auction off another one with another account. The current bid for that almost $1,000. Ebay sellers Member id: linkskywardsword , filmseeking are the same crook. Same use of words to describe their items. inkskywardsword sold three posters from Mar 20-23 for $760.00, $780.00, $250.00. The auction is up for sale only for a day and disappear. Then another one pop up the second day and gone. Very sneaky! This seller made almost $2,000 in 3-days in fraud. Not bad for a piece of crap he/she got for near nothing. After writing some signatures on it and made off with some kid's money, they probably setting up a 3rd account since they know how easy and lucrative it is. Their email addresses are advancepremieres@gmail.com skywardsword2011@gmail.com Stupid criminals who listed their emails in the body of the description of the ads.

I was reading over this report and there are 2 customers who appear to be happy with their product. They seemed to be rather irritated at the fact that ex-authenticator was trying to make people beleive they received some thing other than whats of their faces. I find it rather weird that the happy customers have the burden of proof rather than the author and many alter egos doesn't an ounce of poof to begin with. This is really just a smokescreen.

Are we ebay stalking again? Besides i think the current name is better than the last. I'm more of a hulk fan. They could have done a little more with him in the poster otherwise i would probably bid on it.
So if you look at it this way Ronny you have the customers here who have received authentic stuff along with a link to view his 100% positive feedback along with an item for sale. Sounds like a really weird form of free advertiseing.

Thanks Viper.

The one thing that I wanted to mention regaurding Richards post is that quite clearly if PSA is a scam then they would not have wasted time to just do the service and charge the card but obviously like Ronnie pointed that the customers are getting them authenticated so this is pretty much a closed deal on this seller who is obviously selling real stuff. I've said in many reports before that even if you sell just one fake autograph you should end up loosing your buisness and banned from internet sales. I wish it were that easy.

But Sarah said too ex-authenticator is a bit of a stalker and it probably drives her nuts that she can't see what exactly this seller is selling. But also too sellers use the private feature to keep competition guessing. I guess it would be annoying if your competition was logging into your feedback and seeing whats selling the most and for how much. They just end up undercutting you and god forbid you switch it to private.

So once again there are tons and tons of fraud all over the net but just not this one. Sorry ex-authenticator.

5 months ago I made a rather large purchase from Ne Autograph Store online and the site looked very professional. Now I know that it pays to do your research before you buy and this is a classic example. I'm going to give my opinion on how I veiw PSA. I purchased $1,700 worth of autographs from the Ne Autograph Store and apparently they have their stuff supposedly authenticated and that's initially why I went with them vs other dealers.

I normally get my products specificly authenticated through PSA and I could not locate the pieces that I found on this site so my plan was to purchase the pieces and then turn around and send them to PSA so I can display them with the certificate. Unfortunantly I found out why I couldn't find such pieces on the net. I sent them all in to PSA and if they were to be authenticated through them I would have been charged over $400 due to the large quanity of products I sent them. Just under 2 weeks later I received an email from them saying that they could not authenticate them. I received the items back and there were many issues regauding the autographs. Very obvious fakes. PSA did not charge me at all and I assume that if they were scam artists they would have authenticated the pieces and then charged my credit card for the services. So I think this is a good company based on my experiance.

The thing that I do not understand about these reports is that there are companys out there like this that are still operating however for some reason this Ex-authenticator does not do reports on them but isolates her reports aimed at ebay sellers who have 100% positive feedback and obviously has happy customers for selling them authentic stuff. But yet companys that have tons and tons of complaints go virtually unnoticed in these reports?

So my question I guess to ex-authenticator is why are we doing reports on the wrong people?

Has anyone here ever doubted that there are frauds?

#43Consumer Comment

Tue, April 24, 2012

No..I have not seem anyone doubt that. As well as anyone ever posted here that no one who buys stuff online or anywhere for that matter is not a fool or sucker? No, I have not seen anyone make that claim.

As far as this baseball autograph clown it seems justice prevailed and the scumbag was charged with defrauding. Why anyone payed him for a baseball without having it authenticated is beyond me but it seems some people are not too bright, especially if the feedback was "private"...why would anyone would half a brain trust that?

We should all be glad this seller from back in 2006 has been caught but even though this is a D bag from 6 years ago the same rules apply. BUYER BEWARE. It seems these buyers defending this report have done so by having the items authenticated.

Now if there is a chance the authentication service is a fraud...then that should certainly be addressed. Is anyone claiming the authentication service is a fraud?

Florida Man ChargedAgainWith Autograph Fraud

Posted by Editor on 2/03/11 Categorized as Around the Hobby

3Sheriff's detectives in Florida say they uncovered an autograph fraud scheme in the home of a Port Richey man who was arrested for a similar crime last year. Kenneth Lane Kenneth Lane, 54, was charged Tuesday with scheme to defraud after detectives say he sold over $13,000 worth of fake autographs on eBay to buyers in the U.S. and U.K. over a four-year period.

A complaint affidavit filed by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office and obtained by Sports Collectors Daily lists eight victims Lane is accused of defrauding by selling signed items that didn't carry authentic signatures.  Sports, entertainment and historical figures were among the autographs Lane is accused of  selling via an eBay ID 4709Kenneth between April of 2006 and August of 2010. The eBay account remains active but the feedback is listed as "private". The eBay account remains active but the feedback is listed as "private". A detective who interviewed Lane last June said he also found a computer, printer and Signascript signature writing machine on a desk in Lane's office.  Also found were a microscope, a baseball carrying a blue ink signature that appeared to be drying and several other baseballs in boxes as well as some in plastic cases that were signed. The affidavit includes complaints from buyers who say they purchased their items from Lane, only to have authenticators determine they were not considered genuine.

According to the sheriff's office, Lane's last victim was a man who purchased what he thought was an autograph of John "Bid" McPhee, a turn of the century Hall of Famer.  The item was sold by Lane in August of last year for $2075.   The buyer says he had the signature examined by a local dealer, the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and the Cincinnati  Historical Society, all of which stated in writing that the signature was a forgery.

In 2009, the affidavit indicates one buyer said she purchased a Star Trek cast photo she discovered to be bogus but when she asked for a refund, Lane told her she "should have known it was a fake" and refused to refund her money. The detective indicated Lane admitted to using his computer and the machine to create signatures on a Marilyn Monroe photo.   When he asked Lane about the autopen machine, the detective says he was told that it
"is not illegal if you don't sell the autographed items as authentic".

Last summer, Lane was arrested for selling a baseball supposedly autographed by Chicago Cubs great Gabby Hartnett and mobster Al Capone for $6500, but never delivering the ball to the buyer.   Lane claimed he
had purchased the ball from a Pennsylvania man who died before he could complete the sale.  Those charges were eventually dropped for unknown reasons. Lane was arrested Tuesday.  He posted $5,000 bail and has been
released.  Detectives say they are seeking more potential victims in the case.

The seller never had a store to begin with. He offerd single pieces for sale. Just because you sell single items it does not mean in any way shape or form that you have to have a store. Do you have a multiple personalities disorder or do you just like talking to yourself in your own reports? There is medicine for this.

Its one thing to get caught useing multiple accounts but its another thing to keep doing it. It makes your reports look that much more pathetic. And get this: where is the ripoff? The seller has 100% positive feedback. Their customers received authentic material and money well spent from their perspective......but you have a problem with this. These fairy tales are not going anywhere. I think you are a very bitter jealous woman consider taking on a new hobby instead of entertaining yourself like this.

I would like to know when you going to show us the proof. I want to see the PSA sticker on the poster and the PSA certificate of authenticity so I can see it does match the corresponding numbers. Or you can just give me the numbers and I'll check on the PSA website myself. Either one will do. I'm waiting for your answer.

Ebay has that feature to offer the customers their privacy. In years past ebay has held auctions in the past that have sold in the thousands of dollars. And in return the buyers were hit with a ton of solicitation emails from sellers who wanted their buisness.
Ex authenticator: im not stupid. You know as well as I do that the seller has no need to defend him/herself. The seller was proven to sell authentic autographs. You can read it Clearly from sellers customers. You do know that when you're useing a different name while responding your own reports.......you can at least try to sound different.

And what exactly was your point? People shouldn't buy certain things on ebay and for what reason? Obviously its been proven that everything is authentic so it shouldn't be an issue.

Hey Jennifer. You sound very annoyed but try not to be. You have to keep in mind that this report was not meant to protect people or help anyone in any way shape or form. This is designed as an all out assault on the seller.I saw the poster along with the hologram and with the PSA authentication I beleive that its authentic. With that in mind if you hold up a blue crayon there will those who will try to convince you that its red and I think Dana fits that category.

I've never heard of anyone telling someone about what they received without seeing what was received to begin with. I would worry about the person who tells me that something is authentic or not without seeing it. Darwin award goes to you.

#43Consumer Comment

Wed, April 11, 2012

I found out that my friend who attended the event simply showed off the pic of his 3 kids to get that same ammount so its highly probable to speckulate that someone would obviously walk out with multiples. I aslo checked out the posters and I was pretty shocked by the quality however I'm a little confused as to the pics provided by Dana. The first picture that has fake on it didn't look like anything that was on the poster. But I still think the seller is an opportunist and as I said before the things that I'm finding on-line along with the PSA authentication that the posters received from the people above in my eyes proves them authentic.

I can only wonder though what kind of a pitty story this guy told them to walk out with those seeming that if you asked for more you would get them. I don't really think its fair though that people were denied entry but yet people could walk out with more than 1. Is that really fair?

I'm not quite sure why but is there a reason in particular that you're saying that I received the one you depicted as being fake?

Because that's not the hologram that sits right in front of my face and surely not the one that PSA authenticated.

I am speaking english am I not? Does this usually go on like this though in this forum? I think I've done my part in saying and clearly pointing out what I received and what was authenticated.

Authentication notes

#43Consumer Comment

Tue, April 10, 2012

I initially learned about the posters through the media. They covered the event and of course that drove the demand and price through the roof as you can tell by looking at the auction results. PSA would not associate the autograph poster to the event with the official liscensed hologram and number to go along with the poster.

For Jeremiah: I certainly hope that everyone purchased posters that were meant for someone else let alone little kids but you have to keep in mind that your friend got 3 of them and I think people who dedicate their time and efforts to get the next best thing and those who go to extreme measures to get them can be considerd opportunists.

Later on down the road when my grandkids get ready to start college I'm sure that my collection would be a great investment in their future as far as college is concerned.

Got a question

#43Consumer Comment

Fri, April 06, 2012

This is for Tom. How did you not get one? My friend who works in the industry attended the event and I'm not sure how it was possible that you didn't get one? He came home with 3 of them for 3 kids and they were the larger sized posters with the holograms and all autographed. I tried to get one for my son but sad to say he has 3 kids and they all wanted their own posters. He attended it by himself so if he walked out 3 of them then some people must have walked out with more than 1 but I'll ask him what the deal was with that.

Question for Jennifer: having read this do you feel that you purchased this from a bit of an opportunist? Talk about cashing out big and I know you paid a ton. I'm not questioning the authenticity since you went through PSA but man obviously someone rounded up a stash and bolted for the hills at the event. Some little kid's poster probably "mysteriously disappeared" at the event and some how landed on ebay for you to buy.

So if I talk to friend I'll figure out how he got them and I'll post it here soon.

I live in Dallas, TX and my daughter has this fetish with the hunger games and the books. I was watching our local news and they did a story on that particular event. The only reason I know is because my daughter pointed it out to me and they were describing it and it showed a hologram. The hunger games appears to be a huge thing here in Dallas and the kids are very fanaticle about it. I think that's why people seemed to have gone nuts about bidding that much for a poster.

Here's my take on this

#43Consumer Comment

Thu, April 05, 2012

Hey everyone! Listen up. I'm an avid poster collector myself. I attend the event. Here's my take on this.

The real poster didn't have any hologram or stamp on them to begin with. Liongate crews hand out the smaller size poster. Not the big 27x40. I would agree this person affix the hologram and stamp with the number on them.

Sure, the stars autographs for the fans in the stand. I'm a little skeptical in believing this person had that many for sale when you think about it were pretty large for one person to carry.

No press were allowed to ask for autograph. Just cover the red carpet and get the interviews.

I hope to clear up all of the confusion.

Poster authentication results

#43Consumer Comment

Wed, April 04, 2012

This is Jennifer again and I stated last week that I would post the results of my poster purchase from this seller. When I received it the only real complaint that I had was that there are creases in the corners of the poster. Since its going in a frame I can cover it up but there should have been a tad bit more care when it was prepped for shipping however the poster did get authenticated from PSA. So I do beleive ex-authenticator owes this seller an apology. It seems there are now 2 posters that have been authenticated now according to the other report above.

But as far as what Steve typed above and after reading your reports there's no doubt in my mind that these other comments were typed by the same person. I noticed too that when I was registering for an account to respond to this report that its just asked for an email address and a password but clearly this site should have some sort of method to block multiple accounts per computer but quite clearly what Steve pointed out that its not the case.

Ex-authenticator let me ask you this and I probably will not get a response: why do you do this? Normally when people type a report and they think something is wrong but when they are presented with proof people respond by saying "Even though you had a good transaction people should still be aware of the risks." And then tell people ways they can protect themselves. You on the otherhand type a report and when you're presented with proof you do the opposite. You log into another account and try to make your reports sound worse than they allready are by smearing them with accusations.

But I also think its very noble for people to defend those who are not here to defend themselves and thanks to the above consumer comments. I hope it clears things quite a bit. I will check back every now and then to offer some support. I've been buying off of ebay for quite a while.

Thats intresting

#43Consumer Comment

Tue, April 03, 2012

Honestly after reading and commenting on several of ex-authenticators reports I have noticed that really strange pattern. I've read many other reports on this site about various other issues and the one thing that does not help a report is when the author in some way shape or form responds to a comment that states an insinuation that should have done the complete opposite by saying "you must work for ebay" or you must be an ebay and paypal employee" but I have to oddly agree with Jason that something weird is up with the pattern. They sound alike.

I noticed in the report on skylinesignatures that there was a comment that made me laugh but this is the second report at least with some weirdo speaking up and launching blatant and over-exagerated to gross levels. I'll paste it below:

AUTHOR: John Paul - New York (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, March 12, 2012

Everybody here in New York know who he is. He make his living doing this type of work. I know everybody gotta eat and all, pay bills, rent whatever but don't sell s**t you know you didn't get for real. You know what I'm sayin'? You'll be dead on the street if you sold people fake dope. And that's for real, homie. I see the fella get zip one nite and I'll be seeing it on Ebay. Not one. Two or three. Like five or six. I'm telling you, this guy is all fake. F%*K, homie is playin' everybody with his lies. Woo-wee, everybody is fallin' for it, suckers! The easy get-fat-rich scheme never fail.

Now compare that consumer comment to Celebritysigs below:

Compare these 2 consumer comments to one of ex-authenticators comments from the skylinesignatures report below:

Where is the proof?

AUTHOR: Ex-Authenticator - Las Vegas (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Frankly, you have nothing to base your words on. No photo. No video. Not an ounce of evidence. You going tell me and the rest of the world all those celebrities sign for you. Give me a break

Anyone else find this a little intresting? It reminds me of when you get some bad news and you get a really bad taste in your mouth. Personally in my opinion and based on the point that jason pointed out and after you compare all of these users under these false names I'm making the connection that this is really the work of 1 person and that would be ex-authenticator.

Apparently we are seeing customers come forward who are receiving authentic merchandise but ex-authenticator avoids questions and obvious facts like the plague but yet we have these other consumer comments that pretty much match ex-authenticators science fiction claims. So now the name is Ex-authenticator: she who fights reality with fiction.

A little confused

I'm a customer of this seller and I also received the same poster. I wanted to give a little background information about myself so that everyone can get a better understanding from my perspective. I've been collecting autographes for the last 18 years and the one time that I get burned was from a company called neautograph that can be found on-line. I trusted their so called certificate of authenticity and it was a huge mistake and I kicked myself in the butt for not doing more research on the sellers and their products.

My fears became a reality when I sent the poster to be re-authenticated through the Professional Sports authenticator. I'm sure you've read above reports from the others about PSA. I received word that it was a fake. The signatures were not even close and to top it off the infared signature scanner revealed that whoever signed the poster paused several times as if they were trying to sign over a pattern. To make matters even worse there were even letters missing in the signatures.

The reason why I'm mentioning this is because I purchased the same poster that this Jennifer purchased (the report above) and I received word from them that this is authentic. They issued a certificate of authenticity for me.

I have read through several of your reports and the reason why I'm confused is for some reason when someone confronts you with evidence you seem to avoid it and press on. Perhaps you're one of those people who think that if you ignore the proof that its just going to go away.

But I agree with Davids report above about his findings about the sellers that you're attempting to exploit here. You have had at least 3 times to respond to the evidence and you have simply ignored them all.

My conclusion is that you're not responding because you know that you do not have any proof and that you're fibbing.

Here's another thing; I can at least admit that I do not have proof for this specific theory based on your reports. But how is it that I'm seeing a very strange pattern. I see many people adding their comments in but there are a few that stand out. Esspecially this Celebritysigs and Bo Knows? After reading the dialect in your reports and reading theirs.......you sound alike....................too much alike. Now I know that all you have to do to register for an account here is that you have to have someones email address and create a password and given the fact that the 3 users I've listed give themselves fake names and if you read them outloud they sound like they are being typed by the same person. So I think that there's a bit of desperation going on here that ex-authenticator is grabbing for straws. Too many things stand out to think otherwise.

Another thing that I noticed is that it is ironic that the very service that this author swears by is used to liberate the very sellers that she smears without provocation.

You should apologize to this seller.

Ebay Poster Purchase

#43Consumer Comment

Wed, March 28, 2012

My name is Jennifer and I purchased this poster that is being described in this article on ebay on March 27th. I'm really confused about the details in this article and it makes very little sense.

I've been collecting for the last 16 years and I received prior information that these posters were very limited thus making the demand skyrocket. I collect autograph pictures and posters and before I make a purchase (or bid) I do my research on the product and the seller as well. I search for on-line reports such as here, BBB, and other sites as well. From reading David's report above he is right that you must do your research before making a rather large investment.

I will be receiving this poster via express mail and should get it tomorrow morning. I allways get my pieces authenticated through Professional Sports Authenticator (aka PSA). As soon as I receive my poster it will be sent off to PSA and I have no problem doing a followup on this report for the results. Because I do my homework before I purchase I'm pleased to say that I have never had any issues. I should have the results of PSA's findings in about a week.

Ebay seller filmseeking strike again! Another one-day private auction sold a $900 The Hunger Games FAKE autographed poster on Ebay!

#43Author of original report

Tue, March 27, 2012

After a day selling a $1,000 The Hunger Games signed poster on Sunday Mar 25 ebay auction. Not satisfied yet. Decide to held another one-day private auction on Monday Mar 26 and sold that one for $900. The reason this crook put their auction in private mode so the general public won't be able to see the criminal activities this individual try to pull on ebay consumers with these 1-day sale. Sell it fast without anybody getting suspicious. Hard to do that when your posters signed by every stars from The Hunger Games movie. Plus it's obviously you weren't even there on the rep carpet. Cmon, you got a full cast of 19 to 21 autographs and you didn't take a photo? You don't have the wristband they were giving out only to the first 400 fans who arrive on that Sunday to camp out at Nokia theatre before the 3/12 movie premiere. What you do have is a movie pass and a Press pass you find on the ground or ask for it after the premiere was over! Sorry, you are a scammer!!! Give the money back to the kids or I will trace your email address back to your Bronx neighborhoods where you live and get a visit by the NYPD. This seller can reach at advancepremieres@gmail.com

Here's the list to the fraudulent items this two-timing loser sold to the ebay consumers:

Hello again Ex: Authenticator

#43Consumer Comment

Tue, March 27, 2012

This is David again from Oceanside, CA. I'm still waiting for you to repond to my questions in your previous reports and I was hoping that you provide some answers rather than just plain ignoring me. I think you have a duty to provide proof let alone provide some simple answers.

The thing that I wanted to point out first again is that I'm a hardcore autograph collector. I buy the autographs and then I turn around and send them in to get authenticated through PSA/DNA authentication services that you speak very highly of in your previous reports on other sellers. You made reports on skylinesignatures, as well as tonicollectibles4u and more. The problem and the point that I was attempting to make was that I have purchased autographs from these sellers and after I sent them in to get authenticated through PSA/DNA and they did in fact authenticate them. So that means that if your reports are true then PSA/DNA should have deemed fake right?

The second issue that I wanted to point out is that I understand for some reason you're going by the name "ex-authenticator" and in your report on skylinesignatures you stated that you were an authenticator for 30 years? In your reports you seem very confused as to how people get them, get so many of them at once, and have so many of the same exact kind. I've been collecting for more than a decade and I know a ton about the market and sitting where I am now I'm rather confused that you are claiming that you were an authenticator for 30 years yet you know very little about the market.

It's not complicated. It's no secret that when a movie is made its allmost a year before its actually released and during that downtime there is a time when they are gearing up for a massive marketing campaign that follows and memorbilia is made and part of it is autographs. Pictures, posters, ect. Those are then sold off to companies (both large and small buisnesses and other sellers) and then they are sold to the public. I'm not talking about 10 pieces but hundreds and thousands of pieces. So that explains why you see more than 1 autograph on the market and these people are paid to sign autographs. Have you not been to any autograph signing sessions where people pay $20 per autograph? Do you think they are not making any of that money?

But according to your reports you're saying that if someone has more than 1 of the same type of autograph and if they have not been authenticated then its fake?

But that of course is where PSA/DNA services come in. I personally am not going to drop $750 and higher into a signature without doing some sort of research on the product and the seller and I have not been screwed once so I think your approach is wrong. You should tell people to do their research on sellers, autographs, ect before they purchase rather than picking random sellers and accuseing them of being crooks and criminals because you get customers like me who see these reports and since I've received authentic stuff it makes you look not just stupid but very evil. I'm not one of those people who beleive everything I read and get wrapped up in the drama. Its really stupid.

But I would greatly appreciate some sort of reponse and reveal some sort of proof that these autographs from all of these ebay sellers are fakes because from my standpoint you have some sort of agenda and a reason behind these reports that bear no proof.
