On one late evening I was passing through Missouri and spotted a lone motel that was open for business. I had been driving for quite some time, was extremely tired and decided to stay because the price was reasonable at $49.99 a night. Prior to renting the room for the night some people came out of their room and stated "don't stay here, its disgusting".

I didn't listen and said to myself "how bad could it be, maybe some people are just extra picky". I paid for the room, got my key, and opened the door, and vomited in my throat a little bit. It was super, super old and I mean everything from the TV to the toliet, and stunk to high hell somewhere between the odor of a dead body and human waste, and the longer I stood there, the worse it got.

I am not that awfull picky of a person however, I have slept in holes in the middle of Iraq that sounded more comfortable that night than that place. When I went to the office to request my money back about 15 minutes later, I was accused of being someone from the media just checking out the room and getting a refund.

The lady there whos name I believe is Pat Barber was very rude and charged the first party a $10 fee to get out of there, in which they were more than happy to pay just to leave. I was charged no fee and recieved all money back in cash, but that lady there is somewhat of a psychopath. I told her to "please just refund my money, and that I was just going to be nice tonight".

I went down the road to the only other hotel in that town and paid $75.00 for a huge room with a flat screen TV, mini bar and was VERY, VERY nice. I would suggest anyone passing through there just keep driving to the next one. Its well worth the extra $25.
