Complaint Review: Lion Club ( Argyle Westside) Bobbi Wright

I rented out the out the Lion Club for my 30th birthday party. I put my name down months in advance and then when i call I could never get a callback to make sure my name was still listed for the date. Once I was able to get ahold of the president I had to run him down to give him the money for the place which was a headache. I had to keep calling to see what date would be good to meet up to get the money. When I went to see the place, there were missing pieces of ceilings and it was not cleaned. The place is 200 deposit and 325 to rent, I gave him 340 the first time then had to meet back up with him as it got closer to the date and give him the remaining balance. My husband came up there with me the first time along with my friend. the second time I went to pay the balance off I went alone and the guy tries to get fresh with me. I told him I was married. He tells me he needs to speak with my husband, it was a very uncomfortable meeting. I didnt like that one bit. Now I know from speaking with my friend that threw her husband 30th birthday party there in Jan 2012 that I needed to make sure the place was clean bc this guy was none to rip ppl out of there deposits. He even told me when I pick up the key the friday before my party I can have a party friday ,Saturday and sunday. I wasnt going for that because he told my friend that same story and ripped her out of her deposit. my party was saturday, we cleaned the place Saturday night and my husband went back Sunday morning and stayed 3 hours cleaning the place up. My dad came by to pick up a stage we rented and he saw the place was cleaned. I turned in the keys Monday. I called Wednesday to ask about the deposit, he tells me i get half back because the place was not clean and he had to clean it Wednesday morning. He also claimed that 2 people came by to see the place and refuse to rent the place bc it was a mess. He said he will have to present it to the board and see what they are going to cut a check from the half deposit. He told me it can be within the week or next week. I gave him all cash when i rented the place. The day I went to pick up the key again my husband and friend was present he left a bucket for me to use in case the ac leaks.I am so livid, he has done so many people like this and I strongly believe he is pocketing the deposits and telling the board he gave the people their money back. He needs to be exposed and he needs to be stopped.
