I received in the mail an offer to purchase Lipoban diet supplement with a money back guarantee. The form stated I was welcome to send my post-dated check in for a month in advance. They would ship the product and hold my check for the 30 days. If I was not satisfied, they would return my uncashed check.

I had recently been married and moved so the form came in my maiden name and previous address. I took the forwarding label from the envelope and placed it over the incorrect information, entered my new phone number and used a black marker to point to the new information.

After 30 days I still had not received the product and found that my check had been cashed. I attempted to do a search on the web for the company as I had lost the contact information. The only contact site for them I could find was their website where you ordered via credit card. There was no phone number, e-mail address or physical address in the website. I continued my search but all I could find was websites stating what a ripoff this company was, how the product did not work, how people needed an act of God to get their money back and how not one person had ever received the promised $50.00.

At that point I contacted the Better Business Bureau and got an e-mail address from them. After contacting the Lipoban Clinic, they told me they did not have any record of me in their system, except for my phone number, which did not match me. It was obvious to me that they had neglected to update their database with my new information and had only entered my phone number. They had never shipped the product out. I am positive of this because, to this day, I am still getting items forwarded by the post office with my old name and address on it.

After much e-mailing back and forth, Regina told me that the only way I could get my money back was if I sent her a copy of the check, which I did. I finally did get a check, but it did not include the $7.95 postage and handling. I again e-mailed Regina, who told me that shipping and handling was not refundable. I pointed out that nothing had been shipped and nothing had been handled (except for my check!) and stated that I wanted the $7.95 refunded. She did not respond. I e-mailed asking for a name and phone number of her supervisor so that I could contact that person to get the refund of my $7.95. She has not responded.

I have sent a report to the Better Business Bureau and hope to get some satisfaction from them, but I am not holding my breath.

If anyone else has had unsatisfactory contact with this company I urge you to post it here and also to report it to your Better Business Bureau. When I first placed my order I checked the Better Business Bureau but they gave them a satisfactory rating, stating the only dissatisfied reports they had received had been satisfactorily resolved by the company. If I had found any negative reports, I never would have ordered the product in the first place. This company uses false advertising and horrible customer service practices.
