Liqint.com - Coastline Micro ripoff Internet Internet
I bought Windows XP Pro from this company's website, liqint.com, sometime in August 2006 for $79. The description mentioned that the software can be activated and it was authentic.
Almost immediately after paying for the software by credit card, I got an e-mail stating that they could not process my card but could send the item via USPS COD. I thought about it but decided to search the internet for similar deals. Surprisingly, I located the same item at a lower price ($69 ea) and made a PayPal purchase of four copies. The receipt indicated my money was sent to and received by dsales2006@gmail.com.
When the items arrived, the package contained a Product Recovery CD-ROM from some company named Coastline Micro on the plastic cover was the activation key. Right away I knew something was wrong. However, I decided try to install, without success. An Error message indicated the Key was incorrect.
I tried to contact the seller via e-mail only to learn that the web address and website no longer exist. I have sent over 30 e-mail messages to both sales@liqint.com and dsales2006@gmail.com.
I have initiated a criminal theft action with my credit card company.

I am sorry to hear that you were taken advantage of by the now defunct liqint.com. It appears as though they sold you a copy of a restoration cd from one of our computer systems that were sold through our vast array of nationwide resellers. While we don't have the ability to track the sales history of software activation keys, I can assure you that we have never done business w/ liqint.com nor do we have any knowledge of their existence. While your dispute is valid, it should be directed to the faceless person(s) at liqint.com, not Coastline Micro.
