Purchased an English Bulldog puppy from Lisa and Dean Hennings. This was a beautiful top champion bred puppy, bought as s show/breeding puppy and came with a health guarantee.

Price on the puppy was $2300 and another $300 to have her shipped from Ohio to California. Puppy was found to have genetic bitateral luxating patellas in both back legs, verified in writing by 2 Veterinarians. The puppy could not be shown or bred and would need surgery for both patellas to function normally and not be in pain as she grew. Lisa and Dean agreed to replace the puppy if I returned her. I spent another $300 shipping her back, in addition to the 2 Vet bills.

Over the next 4-5 years they kept saying they would replace her but usually had an excuse why I couldn't have a puppy from their latest litter, i.e. the best pup was going to the stud dog owner etc. They didn't let me know, I would have to check with them every few months to see if they had puppies, usually the answer was no. Once Lisa said there was a female I could have if I wanted it...but she told me the pup was not very nice, not show quality like my original puppy. And she had an umbilical hernia so I would have to have surgery done for that once I got her. I passed on her because I wanted to wait for a similar pup to the one I purchsed and not have to pay for surgery on it. Lisa was agreeable to me waiting.

They stopped responding to me after about 4 years. I think they may have been waiting for the Statute of Limitations to be up. I even offered to settle the whole thing for $1500, half of what I had spent on the puppy. Nope. So between price of the puppy, shipping both ways and vet bills I lost $3000 to them.
