Listing Leader Group, Joe Nichols Real Estate Leads Rip Off Using Fake Realtors Internet

I received a flyer via email, from Joe Nichols of the Listing Leader Group.  I contacted him for more information and he explained that they trained Outside Sales Agent to make phone calls in order to set appointments/find leads for prospective home sellers. As he states below:

"This note is a follow-up to the earlier email & digital flyer our team sent to your attention.
Pro Tip Reminder:  flyer.populr.me/new-flyer

Our sales team begins making prospecting calls into a market 4-6 weeks before we "open" it.  We do this to build momentum, generate leads and, ultimately, over-deliver by providing appointments to new clients sooner than they would expect.

To that end, we've set a listing appointment off of N. Wetherly Dr. in BH for 2pm on 2/19.  Seller is a widow moving to Alexandria, VA to live with her daughter & son-in-law.  She believes property worth +/- $2.25M and our data confirms.  Our sales agent went to USC, as did seller's daughter so there was immediate rapport.

We can make this your first listing with us!!

Please advise a good time to chat if you have interest.

Great day,
Joe Nichols, VP
Dir (((redacted)))

He then put me in touch with another agent and she and I spoke.  She said she had excellent results with the system and closed about six deals a year as a result of it.  Joe said he knew Gary Keller of Keller Williams and had been around a very long time - he is extremely convincing.  After many emails and phone calls back and forth he sent me an agreement to sign and asked me to send a check to the company for $6500 by FedEx using their account and that I would immediately start seeing appointments being set.  This money is supposed to be refundable if you do not see results.  The minute I sent the check, everything changed.  I had one email response:

I wrote:

Dear Joe,

So what do we do?

Right now my satisfaction/happy level is pretty much zero.

I haven't heard from you.

I don't know if anyone is making any calls for me - or if she's just not getting me any appointments.

I thought there was someone waiting to meet with me - hence the rush to get my check in.

I am thinking I just made a huge mistake by putting my hard earned money into this.

He responded:

"Angela I have been in England.  The listing appointments both failed their confirmation call and are 'stalling".

Your program is still active, 4 hours per day of calls and the leads grow by the week.

We are in the hard stages of converting the leads into qualified appointments for you."

That was April 1st and no response since, my phone calls were never returned and then his phone number was cancelled.

I called the "agent" again, but this time I looked her up on the internet and called her number from her website.  She was NOT the same person I had spoken to before.  She said she has received dozens of these calls and has no idea who Joe Nichols is and has never done business with him.  So that's how they do it - it's not just him, he also has a female accomplice involved who claims to be a "high volume" Realtor.

Now his phone number is disconnected.  The website even seems to be changed/down from when I first visited so perhaps they've moved on to another scam.  I wish someone had posted their experience about him online as it would have saved me $6500 and even though I am embarassed that I fell for such a scheme, I would rather swallow my pride and alert others to it.

In short - once the money was handed over he disappeared and I haven't heard from him.
