My2000 durango was always dying and not re-starting. I knew what it was but had no money to fix it. I borrowed the money to fix it and took it to lithia dodge in santa rosa and spoke with jeff the service writer. In speaking with him i mentioned the power control module witch controls all power to the engine. So he told me they would look at it and let me know in a couple of days. I get a call 3or4 days later and he said it just needed spark plugs that i had already replaced and a throttle body cleanning, it would be $500.00. I said ok and they done the work and told me it was ready.I picked it up and paid them it ran for about a little over a week with no problems.Thats what a bad pcm does. I called jeff up from my cell phone and told him what was going on i was told to come on in and they would look at it.So they looked at it and was told it could be the fuel pump Jeff quoted me $1,300 well i did not have the money being ssid.It sat in my carport about 2 months untill i got the money to do it myself. I went down to autozone and paid $348.00 for a new fuel pump lithia wanted over $600.00. I put the new f/p in with the help of my broyher in law and it ran for about 3 days and started in again. So it sat in my carport about another 6 weeks untill i could afford to do anything i called a couple of junkyards and i found a used pcm for $150.00/tax. I So drove to creams auto wrecking an picked it up. I removed the old pcm and installed the new/used pcm now it runs like it should.
