I purchased the CritterZone Pet Air Purifier Wall Unit from Litterboy.com and it produced an awful metallic chemical smell that made me extremely ill. The smell has lingered in my condo unit and is in my clothes in the closet, couch, bed, EVERYWHERE. The first night, I woke up in the middle of the night with shortness of breath and an insane headache. When I got out of bed I was dizzy and began to feel nauseous. I immediately unplugged this toxic product. I could not get back to sleep and the headache lasted for 3 days. This product also made all three of my dogs sick. My dogs were lethargic and did not eat or drink for 2 days and were breathing heavy. My pitbull vomitted.

The next morning my neighbor came over because the stench had seeped through into her unit. I showed her the product and she said that it was an ozone generator and was illegal to have those in California, that they had been banned a few years ago. I've done everything to get this smell out out my condo. I've had every window open and have been freezing. I've had to wash EVERYTHING and spent 4 days doing laundry. When I leave and return home I get a headache after being home for awhile and have woken up with a headache every morning since.

I can't believe this product caused this much damage in a day and a half. It has been over 2 weeks and the chemical odor this product produced still lingers in my condo. What was even more upsetting then the damage this product caused to my health and home was the customer service I experienced from Litterboy.com. I contacted them and notified them of what happened and said that maybe the unit was defective to cause so much harm. I requested to return it and receive a refund.

In their reply they refused to refund me because they said the product was used and that it may be defective and I could call and have them trouble shoot it. Why the heck would anyone want to plug that harmful product back in, unless they were suicidal? I didn't bother arguing with the company because it was clear they did not care and had no intentions of providing the proper customer service to resolve this issue . I did research on the internet and found through product reviews that other customers had similiar experiences from this product. The company is mismarketing this product and should make it known that this product produces ozone which is harmful and even fatal.

Where are the inconsistencies and inaccuracies? Litterboy.com should acknowledge their poor customer service.

You claim that my report on your poor customer service is not consistent or accurate so let me further clarify for you. I said in my complaint that I was told by you to call to troubleshoot the device...which you acknowledged in your rebuttal. Where is the inaccuracy or inconsistency there? Secondly, in your inital response on 11/25/13 to my complaint to you you said "We will accept returns that are new, unused (Items that have been used by you or your pet cannot be returned)." You clearly knew that I had used to the device because I made it clear in my complaint when I told you that the device made me sick, therefore you refused to accept a return and refund me, which you acknowledged in your rebuttal. So again, where is the inconsistency and inaccuracy? To further clarify...since you refused to refund me (please see your reply in the paragraph above that I cut and paste from YOUR reply) I contacted Amazon and made them aware of your poor customer service to which Amazon agreed to refund me under their A to Z garuntee. Again, as you acknowledged in your rebuttal. So for the third time, where is the inconsistency and inaccuracy? So to make it perfectly clear...YOU did not opt to provide the necessary proper customer to resolve to issue until Amazon stepped in and contacted you and refunded me under their A to Z garuntee. So with that said, my report was 100% accurate, consistent, and honest. You on the other hand did not prove otherwise in fact, you solidified my complaint by acknowledging everything I said in my complaint in your rebuttal. In fact, my report is quite consistent, it is the same one I sent to the Wahington State Attorney General's Office, the Federal Trade Commision, Econsumer.gov, the US Product Safety Commission, the BBB, and the California Attorney General's Office. Nice try though, but unfortunately for you it was a failed attempt, just like your poor customer service.
