Complaint Review: Little Gourmet Academy - Mark And Jamie Mingolo

I believe Mingolo and his wife are now operating a company called Executive Rising Services out of Union, New Jersey. Same old fire equipment scam.

You know the drill. Contact all of the local authorities in that area as I have.

If memory serves me correct, and I know it does, yes I did talk to you after I left. For some unknown reason, I actually liked you as a person. Still do once I separate it all out and look at each person there as an individual. Just didn't like the company or certain other people. No sour grapes here. I am quite successful in my life. Do however want to call you out on the lie of the casino trips. I have been to a casino exactly twice in my life. Once in Vegas when I was 10 with my parents, and once about 4 years ago with my husband. Since you are neither, guess that counts any trips with you out. I am just amazed at some of the things that have gone on. Yes from time to time (out of sheer boredom) I look random things up. Yes the Mingolo era falls under random. Was actually surprised to see it still going. Just like everyone else, I expressed my opinion since we all have the right to freedom of speech. If it offends someone to the point of replying back, I really could care less!!

Why have you gotten so mad. You use to call me on Holidays for several years after you left the company, then I changed my number, but I still have yours. So sorry to hear that you are now one of the angry ones. I am glad you taped the meetings, maybee you can still learn something on how to deal with people. Let me give you something else to record. " I have moved on and so should you" I am in a new line of work and own my own business. I have been to the south many many times in the last 6 years and hardly think some good ole idiot is going to try to serve any "southern justice". Maybe i will pop into florence sometime and we can go to the casino just like old times.

Wow....I can honestly say that I am majorly surprised these jack@55es came back to the area. They were here in 2002 under "Unique Worldwide Services." Almost put me in bankruptcy because I bought it all hook, line, and sinker. Cannot believe I was EVER that naive. Believe all of those that call it a scam. No matter what the "product" is, just know that you will NEVER see it or an office. If you have a conscience at all, you will never "make it" with them. I actually got my "office", the more I think about it, the more that I believe it is because I am a straight up honest person that most anyone will believe. I NEVER lied to anyone, if they asked me straight up, I told them straight up. In turn, I asked a lot of questions and had doubts the entire time I was an "employee." Luckily, for me, I was told I couldn't cut it with them as a "manager." I just didn't have the drive to push people to do what it takes because money is not that important to me. That is true. Money is not everything. I was looking for a way to support my newborn baby and that is it.

Do you not realize there is a special place in HELL for lying about your father being a preacher??? Or was he so ashamed of you that he disowned you both??? I think that sounds more like it. Jamie, don't think I destroyed anything that went on in that time frame. I still have a special box with all of that information and taped "training" classes. Yes, I did tape those classes. Started off using them as training tools, but then I decided to keep them because my gut told me something was not quite right.

I really hope you are all in the south and some of the good ole' boys you screwed accidently run across your little scheme. You will find out what justice is in the South!!! You will be begging the cops to come get you.

Sounds like Mingolo struck Alabama again. I dont know who is to blame anymore for him. the fact that he likes to steal money, or the fact that we are dumb enough to give it to him. I am sure he will pop up again soon. Some new state, some new people, same old con. It is a shame though that in this time of economic hardship that they dont put a stop to him stealing and making it worse. I know that so many have posted that he is going to be arrested, or that the FBI or Attorney General was going to do something, but that is never going to happen. If it was, they would have done it already. Every day that goes by, he is making someone's life worse by making their financial situation bleak. If we all quit trying to be rich overnight and work hard and earn money the old fashion way, people like Mingolo would have to find real jobs too.

TrackFire Employees Question Whether Boss Is Ripping Off Customers

LANCASTER, Pa. -- A help-wanted ad in several Susquehanna Valley newspapers is attracting the attention of many people looking for a better job. Now several people who have worked for this company have contacted News 8 urging us to look between the lines of the ad and the man behind the company that placed it.

Eight On Your Side consumer reporter Brian Roche filed this report.
Too Good To Be True?
It's a small classified ad, but it's pretty powerful.

"Seventeen dollars per hour, no experience, will train," reads Linda Poneros, of East Hempfield Township. "And I was thinking 'Wow. Seventeen dollars an hour -- that sounds great.'"

Just a few days after responding to the ad, Poneros was interviewed in a small office just outside of Lancaster. The business is called TrackFire International and it had just opened last August.

"They asked me a few questions, told me they were impressed with me and hired me right on the spot for management," said Poneros.

Sensing it was all a little too good to be true, Poneros did an Internet search. She searched TrackFire International scams and said she found a lot of information about Mark Mingolo.

Roche tracked down Mingolo. He tells prospective employees that he is the regional vice president of TrackFire International. If you search his name on the Internet, you'll find comments from disgruntled consumers and former employees in several states about their dealings with Mingolo (see this page for an example from Google).

News 8 On Your Side searched records of the Better Business Bureau and discovered Mingolo's name listed as president, principal member or owner of businesses in states stretching from Alabama to the Carolinas, and as far north as Connecticut. There were different names for the businesses in each state. Better Business Bureau records showed that many of the businesses are now closed, and phone numbers for the other businesses are either disconnected or constantly busy.

The BBB stated that "previous companies operated by Mark Mingolo have had an unsatisfactory record."

But in each state Mingolo has set up shop, the business model seems to be the same -- selling fire safety equipment with a small army of sales people that are constantly being recruited.

"You could go door to door but he said go to your family and friends because it will be easier to sell," said Rob Moreo, who worked for TrackFire for a few weeks last fall.

Moreo said he sold expensive fire safety packages to people he knew. He said he quit when he realized the products that he was selling were not being delivered.

"Like the worst part about it is I had sold to my grandma, and she doesn't have that kind of money and she figured she was helping me out. It's terrible," said Moreo.

Moreo said TrackFire employees are told that if they sell $2,000 of equipment, they will become office managers and be able to hire other people.

"It sounded like a pyramid scheme," Moreo said.

In the last three weeks, 10 employees of TrackFire International have contacted News 8 On Your Side to say the product they've been selling since last fall is not being delivered. Their estimated sales alone total $27,000.

News 8 On Your Side found Mingolo and asked him about the undelivered goods. He walked away. The following brief exchange took place between Roche and Mingolo.
Roche: "You have nothing to say about the $27,000?"
Mingolo: "No comment guys. No comment."
Roche: "$27,000 of property not delivered?"
Mingolo: "Alright. It was delivered and we with the company are going to stick behind the company. It's a great company. It's awesome."

More than a week ago, News 8 On Your Side contacted TrackFire International trying to find out where the undelivered goods were. Thursday, the company sent News 8 a 40-page fax, which it claims are the records for their delivered shipments. But all the paperwork shows are UPS tracking numbers, which indicate that a package has been delivered at a certain date and time. It does not indicate who shipped the packages, where they were shipped from or what was inside them.

News 8 contacted TrackFire Thursday seeking further proof that the packages contained customer orders, but News 8 did not receive a reply.

Meanwhile the employees who have been talking to News 8 said that some customers have received small portions of their orders but the majority still have not received their merchandise.

Eight On Your Side has learned that several employees and customers of TrackFire have filed complaints with the state attorney general's office and the Manheim Township police regarding the company.

Mark and Jamie were still operating Little Gourmet Academy in Montgomery, AL on Monday, Nov 17. They interviewed several people THAT DAY knowing they were closing the doors and moving out THAT night. They actually moved out EARLY Tuesday morning. There was a scene at their business Tuesday morning. A disgruntled person (I dont know if he was an ex-employee) blocked the moving truck and demanded to know where they were moving. Mark and Jamie had just left minutes before he got there. Police were called. It appears too much pressure was coming down on Mark and Jamie and they had to get out of town. Jamie's family was there and there was a lot of arguing over the items being moved. A moving company in Montgomery took their store items away. Jamie's family members took several items in an open trailer. Last I heard, they were moving to East Rutherford, NJ. Beware, I'm sure their next rip off scheme will be up and running soon.

Last contact I had said they had charges that would be filed against Mark, and they had tracked down his real name. I don't know what it is because they refuse to release that type of information to someone as ticked off as me and that has such family and political ties. I WILL be monitoring this site to keep as up to date as i can on Marks location. I will be flying out to a location at some point to "speak" face to face with him again. I know "how the business works", and I wish to inform him how the other side of that type of business works. Good ole Italian style. Two other "families" that have yet to receive products from the LA company, National Racing Services, are also keeping an eye out. His friends at the Marrero Police, or the ones he paid from the Jefferson Parish Criminal Office can't help him from them.... I am more than willing to give the so called cops, or law enforcement those names if they wish to contact me.

Same old type of scam Mingolo has been doing for years. Report him to your local police, state attorney general, local news, etc. Go to Google and type in Mark Mingolo for some laughs. He's an article on a prior Mingolo scam:

Attorney General Richard Blumenthal and Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) Commissioner Edwin R. Rodriguez today announced that the state has won a temporary injunction prohibiting Advanced Safety Solutions, LLC from selling unauthorized fire safety equipment.

The state is also pursuing a civil lawsuit against the company for the violation and other misrepresentations it made to consumers and trainees about electronic defense weapons and its management training program.

A criminal arrest warrant is pending against company office manager Michael Jenkins for selling the illegal fire extinguishers. State police are seeking to execute the warrant.

Advanced Safety Solutions, a New Jersey company with offices in Berlin, New Britain and formerly in Hamden, markets and sells fire safety products including fire extinguishers, fireproofing material, smoke detectors, electronic defense weapons and personal defense pepper and tear gas spray.

The company illegally sold or marketed fire extinguishers and a flame proofing and fire retardant product - 'Flame Pruf' - that were never tested or approved by a nationally recognized laboratory, as required under state law. Advanced Safety Solutions also falsely claimed that Flame Pruf was approved by the California Fire Marshal.

'This company's false claims induced consumers to rely on illegal fire extinguishers to protect their homes and families,' Blumenthal said. 'We have stopped this company from illegally selling devices that could do more harm than good. Their lawbreaking extinguished public safety and public trust more than flames. Failing to secure proper testing and rating for its products, and then purposefully mislabeling them, unconscionably put innocent lives at risk. All consumers who purchased such fire safety equipment should immediately contact my office.

'The company operated - in effect - a pyramid scheme that also victimized trainees who were induced to rely on false promises of high profits.

'Connecticut law requires that fire extinguishers be tested, rated and listed by a nationally recognized laboratory approved by the state fire marshal. Consumers should look for labels that show clearly that the device meets these requirements, including ratings by an approved laboratory such as United Laboratories (UL), using standards from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The label should also indicate the particular type of fire that may occur such as electrical or grease.'

Rodriguez said, 'Advanced Safety Solutions appeared to also be operating a deceptive marketing and hiring scheme to lure participants as trainees with promises of high earnings and rapid advancement to management level positions. The trainees were required to sell this unsafe fire safety equipment to family, friends and neighbors in order for them to be able to meet their sales quotas and be eligible for a promotion. Their whole business model from 'soup to nuts' has the makings of an ideal sham.'

The state's lawsuit also alleges that, even though it is a criminal offense to carry electronic defense weapons, Advanced Safety Solutions falsely told consumers that such weapons could be carried for personal protection, or that permits could be obtained to carry them.

The company also allegedly misled its trainees about several matters, including pay rate amounts, promotions and fees that it charged for background checks.

Get the facts straight before you post. If Mark wasn't at Little Gourmet then no one would be complaining about QUITTING the company!
