I received a bad mark on my credit report from Litton Loan Servicing LP for not paying my loan on time. However, my loan was paid off on June 28, 2004 and was record on July 1, 2004.

However, Litton said they did not receive the payoff money until July 8, 2005 --Thus, marking my record as 30 days delinquent (even though they were notified of a loan payoff).

I called Litton on June 10, 2004 to verify that they were notified of my loan being paid off. And, my escrow service also called Litton the following week to notify them of the loan pay off. Generally they do not mark your credit record when there is a pay off happening (called in good faith).

I should not be responsible for the money not getting to Litton since Litton has the wrong address information (as report on my credit report). How dishonest they are. They need to get their act together and not dings peoples credit when they fail to provide the correct address information.
