In August of 2013 I was denied a loan modification from CitiMortgage. The very next day Michael Wells from Loan Retention Firm called my home and told me he could get me a 2.5000% reduced interest rate on our mortgage. He then emailed me a Disclosure and Agreement form to sign and return with my check in the amount of $2,496.  This was the amount Mr. Wells showed us that we would be given after a Federal Grant of $800.00 which would reduce our fee to $2.496 from $3,296.  He pointed out that there was an expiration date on the "Grant Funds" so that we should mail the form back with our check before the expiration date in order to take advantage of the 2.5000% lower interest rate.  After sending our check with all of our personal information that was requested, we never heard from Mr. Wells.  He never answered our telephone calls and we realized that it was a scam.  Hopefully, this will inform others to not fall for deals that are done through the internet.  We are still trying to see if there is anyway we can get our money back from Michael Wells and his Loan Retention Firm.
