I would like to file an official complaint on a Lone Star Imports 12150 Garland Rd., Dallas, Tx. 75218.GDN# P39960.

I purchased a 2001 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer on 5/25/2005.. I was told verbally that the truck was in great condition by the sales person Cecil Lewis. When my friend and employee ****** and I test drove the vehicle along with Cecil Lewis ,I noticed the (abs) light was on in the dash . I then asked Cecil "What is this (abs) light on for?". He responded with I am not sure , I believe it's confirming that your Air Bags Systems are working correctly!" He went further to say," We will have our mechanics look the entire Truck over before you take it and fix any of the problems that they find." I also noticed that the radio stations were not showing on the dash. I asked Cecil again, "Why can't I see the radio stations?'. He responded "That's a simple fuse to replace. Lori Murphy noticed a slight shake from the front end while I was breaking and asked Cecil about that with the same response about the mechanics looking over the entire truck before it was picked up.

I came to get the Expedition and after waiting some time for the mechanics to look it over I was told that they would have to order the parts that were needed and that would take a couple of days. Because I was expected in Kansas for court, I told them I would contact them when I returned. I did in fact contact the service department several times and they had no idea what I was talking about. Saying that they were a separate mechanics shop and not owned by Lone Star Imports. They also told me they were booked up until the next Monday when they would only have 30mins to squeeze me in to check on it at my cost. So I decided I was going to take it some place else. But before I could do that the truck just completely broke down. I contacted the warranty company, Complete Automotive Repair Services at 1-888-335-6838. It was on Saturday, Aug.27 ,2005. I was instructed to get it towed to any qualified mechanic.

The truck was towed and I was going to wait until I talked to Lone Star before any of the work was done. Because Monday September 5, 2005 was Labor Day, I didn't contact them on Monday. I tried to contact the manager for the next 2 days finally got hold of him on Thursday , September 1,2005 .I was told he was going to look thru my file and call me back. I called again on Friday and was told he was out ill. I called again on Sat. was told he was still ill. At that time I instructed the mechanic (Tim) from Prestige Ford to go ahead and start the work cause I needed my vehicle back. I called again that next Monday was told he was off that day. That is when I asked to speak with any manager on duty. I was told by this manager that they were not going to help me pay for the work that had been done, but if I wanted to get the truck towed there they could fix it for much cheaper with used parts. I told the manager that I was told by Cecil that this was all going to be taken care of by them that they were going to order the parts. He denied that ever being said.

Tim called me back and explained to me that the entire cluster was not working and would need to be replaced , the battery cables were all corroded , the battery was even to small for the truck. He said just to replace those things would $1637.00. And then he could look at the front end shaking . Which by this point had gotten so bad that I could hardly stop the vehicle when applying the brakes. After he replaced the cluster he quoted me $900.00 for the front end problems. And that was to replace the front rooters, arm pivots, & brakes. I paid $3,500.00 down on the truck and $265.00 bi-weekly. I made 7 payments.. Totaling around $1855.00 . Total with the down payment $5355.00. The Prestige Ford 's cost will come to $2,537.00. I had only gotten drive the vehicle for 3 months and 2 days before it broke down.
I can not afford to get the truck out of the shop and make the payments. I am now with out a vehicle all together and stuck with the challenge of getting my kid to school and myself to work . As well as, trying to get the money for another vehicle after spending all that on the Expedition.

I do believe that I was mislead and not told the truth from Cecil. Because, I am a woman and do not know about vehicles Cecil took advantage of that and so did Lone Star Imorts. Had I been told the truth about the cluster, front end problems and the crurotion cables all fixing to go out and needing to soon be replaced I would have never bought that Expedition. I do not believe the mechanics, nor Cecil did not know about the upcoming problems. The mechanic informed me that in his opinion this crurotion and takes some time to get that bad.

I made not have a case to get my money back, due to signing as is documents . But, I am at least wanting to file a compalnt so that it will be know what kind of business tatics Lone Star Imports has. So that it will prevent them from doing this to others.

Why Did You Buy This Thing?

Gina:

You were astute enough to see problems with this thing BEFORE you bought it. Then what did you do? YOU took delivery BEFORE anything was fixed? They got their money and now you wonder why they won't fix it?

Next time when you find problems, don't ever sign anything or give ANY money until and unless they fix the problems. When you take delivery before repairs, you give up your power in the deal. They have your money. If they want you as a customer, they will fix the car to get your business. Most dealers assume the customer doesn't have the business sense to do this. Next time, prove them wrong.

Finally, I'm concerned about your health. Did you have a nervous breakdown over this? Or were you making reference to using the BRAKE?
