Lobel Financial Corporation Threats, Lies, and Deceit, Ripoff Anaheim California

Lobel Financial has repeatedly called my home, my cell phone, and a boatload of other friends and relatives of mine (both at home and work) trying to obtain contact information for one of their "clients". We've all expressed that we don't have the information that they are looking for and that we don't have any business with Lobel Financial but that hasn't stopped the continual calls.

Not only do the Lobel representatives go into great detail about the supposed wayward "client" and related payment history with people unrelated to the "client" or the debt, they refuse to quit calling. Keep in mind that none of us cosigned for this car loan, nor did we give permission or references for this individual to do so.

I have taken messages to satisfy Lobel Financial only to find out that the names are fake...the extensions aren't valid either. Try calling back the numbers that they give you or worse yet....ask for a supervisor, you get transfered to a half a dozen other numbers that include the janitor's closet!

I have spoken to Belinda, Sandra, Irene, and Howard (half of which are bogus names). Lobel Financial has called from, 714 229-3741, 714 229-3744, 714 995-3333, and through a bogus company identified as Insurance Services, 719 457-3992.

The biggest complaint is that not only will Lobel NOT stop calling, if you hang up on them... they call right back... just to inform you that the calls will continue. One Lobel representative actually claimed that nothing will stop the calls... according to her... they get sued all the time!

I've been accused of "harboring" a car that was scheduled for repossession, aiding in criminal acts of fraud.... none of which was true. My suggestion to Lobel Financial would be that if you can't keep track of your "clients", why should I? Not only was the payment history false for the "client" that Lobel wanted so bad but they actually repossessed the vehicle in question... only to charge the "client" impound and towing fees... none of the fees were relative to missing or late car payments.... because there weren't any!

All these tacts were so unwarranted, one late car payment does not constitute fraud or repossession. Since the pen is mightier than the sword.... Lobel Financial.... you've done called my house once too many times! Besides haven't you Lobel folks heard of caller ID?

New Year...New Chapter in Lobel Rip-Off

#3Author of original report

Sat, February 10, 2007

I continue to maintain that Lobel Financial utilizes unfair and illegal debt collection practices and that's putting it mildly. Our home is still being contacted in an attempt to collect the debt that I mentioned in my original complaint. After doing a little research and questioning the individual that Lobel is trying to reach (your not going to believe this), not only was the vehicle paid off and the loan requirements fulfilled last year (even after Lobel quoted, misquoted, and requoted the final payoff amount half a dozen times) but a transfer of title and a registration refund was given to the individual. Now after a year maybe more of the vehicle belonging to another party, title and all...Lobel is once again sniffing around my home and every family member that we have claiming that $3,000 is owing (despite the final payoff) and that the account is in arrears. This week alone I have received 4 calls every day for the last 4 days in a row. Each time I have explained that I've seen the paperwork and that their records are in error. Each time an apology is forthcoming and "something" is noticed that was posted in the file.

And the following day I receive 4 more calls and go through the whole thing all over again. My elderly father in another state that has no knowledge of the transaction between Lobel and the individual that they are trying to reach...has been contacted as well. How did they get all these phone numbers...well it's only one of two ways: Dumpster diving-I doubt or hacking into people's phone records (land line and cell). That alone is illegal. I'm no prophet but trust me...keep your records folks because one day there is going to be a class action lawsuit against Lobel and each one of you is going to need to prove that you were a victim to get a refund. Final note: I've seen the letter from Lobel thanking the individual that they are trying to reach for the final payoff and a reminder that the title to the vehicle should be received shortly and guess what...it was! I saw that too. What Lobel is doing cannot be considered legal financing...extortion and racketeering is a more accurate definition!

Contact Me Again -- Sacramento, CA

#3Author of original report

Sat, September 09, 2006

Will the California/Sacramento individual contact me again by phone or email? My 9 year old email account was hacked into and all my contacts were deleted--this is a first! I don't have anyway to contact you since your email was in the batch that was taken. I can not respond with the information that was requested until you recontact me.
