On June 10th 2013, Lobel showed up with a repossession order for not showing proof of Insurance.  We purchased the car in February 2013 and also paid a 2000 down payment,  and like everybody knows it is the law for you to get full coverage before you can take the car off the lot. We got insurance with Farmers in the North Valley with an agent we have used for several years. We paid every payment which was only 3 since we got the car, and was never notified of them never NOT receving the proof of Insurance. After the tow truck took the car, the tow truck driver apologizing up and down that he has repossed 6 cars this week for Lobel for the same reason. He straight up said "If you get your car back, refinance cause Lobel Financial are a bunch of crooks, and the only reason he took the warrents is due to a lack of work." I called Lobel and they said they will have to call us back. After I wait about 10 minutes, I received a call from a woman saying she will call me back the next day to give me the details on how to get my car back. I have already verified with my Insurance agent that she has sent the proof over 7 times via fax and email. I even have took the proof to our local office located here in Albuquerque and they did not Fax it either. Luckily I have another car paid off that I can take my kids to daycare and my wife to work. I worry about those people that need their car for doctors appointments. Just an example  maybe a Cancer patient needing radiation.  Lobel has no respect for their customers,  do not know how to provide customer service, and overall just dont give a @#$%. I have got in contact with my Attorney Generals office and am in process of finding a law that Lobel Financial broke today when picking up my car without prior notice. **** PLEASE READ: IF YOU ARE READING THIS DO NOT LET LOBEL FINANCIAL FINANCE YOUR CAR LOAN**** I swear that you will regret it. I will post tommrow as soon as I hear back from them and see what they want in return of my vehicle. I know there are way more important things going on in the world besides me losing my car in the most unproffesional manner today. Like over 500 murders that happened in the South side of Chicago last year. Just thought if my post stops one person from giving there hard earned money to Lobel Finacial to steal it, it would be well worth it.Thanks for reading and god bless ! Excuse the Grammer and spelling done while driving and on my smartphone.

on march 9th 2014 lobel had lightning fast recovery system repo my truck for lack of insurence and 2 late payments..i was never notifyed by lobel in regards to the n o proof of insurence claus in the contract...ok fine,i went and got a new policy with gieco and they faxed a copy of proof of insurence to lobel, that was on the 5th of march 2014. yes i admit i have been late twice with my payment and yes i`ve called lobel and explained why,all i get from thier customer service is we dont care about being late and charged me an extra 72.00 late fee.today is march 10th 2014 and lobel says i have to wait untill march 11 2014 to find out what it will cost to get the truck back.i have called the repo service and they said i could have everything in the car for 100 dollars and the key to the truck.......why should i pay to get my stuff back? like all repo companies the employees will ransacke the repo vehicle and take what they want...if you complain they show u a sign that says they are not responsible for anything left in vehicle. thanks to lobel i lost my job by them making false statements bout insurence, late payments

You made the right decision to have a lawyer represent you in this matter. Lobel Finance and every car dealer that partners with them violate your consumer rights along with the fedreal fair lending laws and by falsifying documents to reposses vehicle which they have to notify the police or sheriff's dept. prior to repo.

Lawyers are expensive but in this matter necessary. Keep in contact with your laywer on your case plus do some research on Lobel and the dealer that sold car: Better Business Bureau, DMV, Distrct Attorney, Consumer Affairs, etc. Knowledge about situation will help you.

Almost forgot why I sending rebuttal. This happened to me signing two contracts, sale price change, finance terms , and the No insurance scam they are so famous for. Not to mention they did not disclose "salvage Title" at time of sale.

I would like to know how this all comes out for you. I will contact you through your gmail account on messaage.

  Good Luck

Hi, The same thing happened to me! Lobel Financial claimed that I didn'nt have car insurance and that they never received it when the car was purchase!! Okay, one you are not lying because at the time of purchase I had my Geico Agent send over info to Lobel directly as well as the car lot and if anyone knows Geico, they provide efficiency at the stroke if a click. Furthermore, 2 weeks later I get a letter in the mail stating they never received insurance info...okay now another month passes and BAM!! Another request for insurance info! This time I decided to fax over the insurance info myself...guess what??? They claim they never got it!!! Ughhh!! Come on Lobel, whats really foing on here??

To you people who gave a response about thinking im lying and making stories up. You are pathetic and do not know my situatuon. I am actually represented by an attorney as of today. Lobel now wants 2500 for me to get my vehicle back. They want next months payment which is 430 and they state the 2100 dollars are fees and penalties for having the car repossed. They are now not saying anything about my insurance., which was the reason for taking my vehicle in the first place. My attorney actually is the one in contact with Lobel he wants me to cease communication with them. The car which was my wifes is gone, but we actually got approved today on another newer model car. Thank god. So im gonna stop being polite .like in my last response and if you intenet trollers like the last two punks before have anything to say. Contact me personally jaramillojuan198121@gmail.com.  Do not hate on a internet site which is here for consumers to call out the bad companys of the world also making fun of someones bad luck when more than likely your a 35 yr old living with your momma. I will post what the outcome is from me working with my attorney on this case. F**k Lobel Financial.  Just another corporation sucking the blood from what is left of the middle class. I give my word as a man that all I habe stated is true. We got scammed by Lobel Fimacial. And if anyone from the company is reading shame on you for working with such a dishonest. Fake snake company. You work for them and I know you know what im saying.

"the tow truck driver apologizing up and down that he has repossed 6 cars this week for Lobel for the same reason. He straight up said 'If you get your car back, refinance cause Lobel Financial are a bunch of crooks'..."

I don't believe your story because I highly doubt the tow truck driver would bad-mouth his customer, especially when he has been lacking work. You claim the tow truck driver told you he has repossessed six cars for Lobel this week. Your car was towed on Monday, June 10th. Lobel has provided him a lot of business since Sunday so his business can't be that bad.

"everybody knows it is the law for you to get full coverage"

There is no law that requires full coverage. New Mexico state law requires bodily injury liability but not collision, comprehensive or uninsured motorist coverage. Finance company policies tend to require collision coverage. I recommend you purchase extra coverage because you have elected to endanger innocent lives by surfing the web while driving. I'm glad you are off the road.

At first glance it sure looks like this could have happened.  But there are a few things that are a bit odd.

First of all you stated that in order to even drive off the lot you must have insurance.  Okay...so if that is the case then we must figure that you had it when you left the lot.  So why if as you claim you were "never notified of them never NOT receving the proof of Insurance".   Why did not only you have to do down to personally give them a copy, but did your insurance agent send them a fax or e-mail OVER SEVEN times.  I know that there are some great insurance agents out there, but I have yet to hear of one that just out of the blue decides to send out multiple insurance verifications for their clients.

Other issues is that you seem to be trying to make your situation more sympathetic by putting out things that are not relevant to your situation.  Such as saying what if you were a cancer patient.  Or at the very end when you say there are worse problems such as the murders on the South Side of Chicago.  Really?  What does that have to do with a finance company?  Perhaps if you actually lived in the South Side of Chicago..but you are in New Mexico.

Then we have the statement that you wrote the original report while driving?  Well while it appears that NM is one of the few states that has yet to ban practices such as this, you are a total idiot for even thinking that something like this was important enough to risk your life as well as others on the road around you.  Of course..this is all figuring that you did do this.

But with all of this said.  If you are telling the 100% truth with nothing left out, then yes you should get your car back without having to pay for it.  Where if you do, you may need to take them to small claims court.
