Complaint Review: Local Ad Link

Local Ad Link Won't pay my commission. Don't waste your time or money! Internet

This company claims to be setting records for sales and they continue to have seminars and meetings, but after two months, they still can't pay me for an ad I sold. They charged my customer twice for their ad; it took them over a month to fix their system so the customer could upload images and post reviews of that business.

If they have not paid me for my ad sale after all my emails (and promises), they must be having financial problems as they can't take the time to get my problems solved or arrange to let me know when I will get paid.
There is no support. No phone number to call. Just an email address that sends your email out there into Cyberspace.......

I spent about $100.00 getting their business cards, materials, and making copies so I could get out on the street and sell this. Wonder if I'll ever get my money back out of this.

This is a great system on paper (in theory). They have too many issues to trust them at this point. If they ever get the system fixed so it works as it should, I would like to sell their ads. But, until then, and until I get paid, this is an opportunity to avoid like the plague!

GOT PAID FOR ONE MONTH - BUT STILL OWED FOR 5 MONTHS!

I have received one check so far for $49.97 (instead of the $50.00 for a monthly commission). This is for an ad I sold with them back in February. Emails don't seem to do anything except cause replies that are broken promises. So far, two of the employees at Corporate have promised to take the bull by the horns and get me paid.
Can't say how many emails I've written. But I will keep it up until I get what I am owed - nothing more!

I started with LAL in Feb of 09 and it was good for about two weeks. I saw customers ads on top of Google.com all the time. So I started selling more ads then the ads stopped showing up.

I tried to get support but there was none at all. Emails I sent took weeks for a response and were basically form replies. Totally useless info from them from support. So on went the emails complaining about where are the ads on google and why are they not posting.

Long story short.. In the 4 months that I worked with LAL as a sales rep, I have over 125 emails about all my complaints. I only got replies when I was not so nice. I called them idiots for not knowing how to help, and because in my contract that I signed upon sign up, it states that I can not be mean or use racial comments. I guess "idiots" is racial and for that they said..

"This letter is to inform you that your distributorship with LocalAdLink is herby terminated without delay, effective immediately. This decision is based upon the violation wherein you used inappropriate language and made racial comments in your emails to LocalAdLink Customer Service. This is in direct violation of LocalAdLink's Policies and Procedures, which states, I [as a representative] will ensure that in all LocalAdLink business dealings I will refrain from engaging in negative language. I will refrain from making any type of slanderous statements. The foregoing activities by you are in clear violation of your commitments and agreements with LocalAdLink.

Effective from this date, May 18 2009; LocalAdLink Brand Builder Position xxxxxxx is no longer accessible or active. Take note, your case will be turned over to our outside legal counsel for review. Therefore, we strongly suggest that you refrain from committing any further violations that could continue to raise your legal liability.

Sincerely,
LocalAdLink Compliance Department"

It also states in the contract around paragrah 10, that if LAL does not provide what they say, then there will be a refund or partial refund. (even after 3 days) I don't have access to that info anymore so I can't quote the exact verbage. It is also available to view when someone prints out the customer sign up form, look in paragraph 10. But they never enforce their own contract until they want to remove a sales rep. It works for them but if you tell them they're not following their own contract, that means nothing to them.

I did get my commission checks and after they let me go, I disputed my $348 with my cc and got it all back. So I am not mad that I lost money with LAL because I didn't. It's too bad others have. I keep saying about LAL that they have a good concept, but only if they follow through on their promises. But as the months went by, it kept pointing to a scam. Now that I called them on it, they're way of dealing with it is saying I violated the contract, which they did more times than I have. Good luck

STILL NO PAYMENT FOR MY COMISSIONS

#10Author of original report

Sat, May 09, 2009

I have sent emails to four different people associated with this company and apparently none of them are people of their word. I keep getting promises of payment and nothing happens. I sold one ad to a friend who owns a computer business and wanted to see what would happen once I sold it (Would it really work? How hard would it be to enroll the business? Would I get paid?). There were problems right from the start. It took 4 weeks to get their system fixed so images could be uploaded and another 2 weeks so reviews of their business would appear. My instinct was spot on. This ad was sold back in February and I have not been paid a dime in commissions. Meanwhile emails come my way almost every day bragging about how much money they are making (funny how it does not show up in the value of their stock).
The idea is great. But without real support and honest business practices, these will catch up with them and force them out of business (as well it should).

I have had the same problem...

#10UPDATE EX-employee responds

Fri, May 01, 2009

Hi Mike,

I have never received my commission either from an ad I sold in February. I have emailed the company several times and after telling me they were sending payment, now say I haven't reached the "minimum required payment". When you call the phone number all you get is a message telling you to send them an email. I would suggest anyone who wants to be a part of this company to rethink it. It seems like they are a scam!

Still waiting....

I keep getting emails about how they have figured out the problem but we are now in the third month without my commission check. Somehow it should not be that hard to pay me for selling their ad. Have to wonder how many others are not getting paid as well....?
