I started with LocalAdLink at the end of December, shortly after LocalAdLink opened its doors. It seemed like a great concept- effective internet marketing that targets local areas. The best part, me as a "Brand Builder" can build sales teams and will get income from my ad sales and develop revenue from my team.

After I put time, effort, money into LAL I realized it is all a SCAM. I should have known that a new company opening in this economy with them claiming everything is perfect or being fix was too good to be true.

I have YET to be paid for ad sales after MONTHS of contacting LAL and and my clients have been hounding ME because their ads are not working and they can't contact anyone at LocalAdLink.

Everytime I try emailing them (because when you call them the message tells you to email them because they don't accept calls) I get an email reply about 10 days later "We are working on the issue and will have it fixed within 7-10 days. Thank you for your support during our soft launch!" Its funny how I have received the same email months on end, sometimes a couple emails a day, and even after their 10 day window is up- NOTHING IS DONE.

To make things worse my friends who I have sold this product to (when I thought this was a good company) are upset. They are all small business owners trying to make it in this economy and for them to get ripped off if just not fair. I am ripped off, my clients are ripped off, everyone gets ripped off by this company.

I have been emailing the COO, various other VP's and the CEO and they make FALSE promises. I even give them the benifit of the doubt and still I find that every email is a lie.

I cannot express my frustration enough with this company. All I can say is that from someone who was a "sales rep" for the company to perspective clients- RUN AWAY. For people thinking about selling LAL, RUN AWAY!

Only a select few ads work which are used as examples to con customers into this system. My ads have not even shown!

I have contacted the Attorney GEneral and the Wage Commission about LAL. As you can admagine they are backed up with other claims but I have faith in our system. In the mean time, stay clear of this company.

I'm taking my complaints to the BBB and maybe it's something you might consider as well. I checked the record under "Boomj" and they have an "F" rating . . . so, is there any wonder the name has recently changed to Beyond Commerce? In any event, it appears that nearly 100% of the people who have file complaints over a variety of issues are getting results.

It's interesting that many of the people who sign on to sell advertising through this company don't seem to understand internet marketing completely. Sure the out of work real estate agents, mortgage brokers, stay-at-home moms and others looking to make money off of this are trained on this program, but it still is not enough to really understand how search is done and how consumers actually search the internet. It takes time to understand results and how they are generated. This is a HIGHLY professional field that needs to be handled by people who really understand these components.

After reading how this company generates traffic, I am truly amazed that businesses would spend up to thousands of dollars to place their advertising with them. Thinking that re-directed searches through "reputable sites" are going to generate the right traffic to your business that is so highly sought after is rubbish. Also, understanding that most people many times do NOT reference the sponsored listings (pay per click ads) as a pertinent search is important to understand when marketing your business. How many times have you clicked that yellow sponsored ads and have been directed to a site that isn't what you are looking for? It only takes a few times before you don't click on them anymore. You MUST show up in the "organic" or natural search engine results because many times they more accurately connect people with the information they are looking for.

In many cases that I have seen, LocalAdlink is failing to connect businesses with the consumers that are looking for them. Additionally, I have yet to see any local business that says they are advertising there show up through this company. By harvesting searches through these other sites, many times the search just is not accurately matched. However, they say that the site IS generating traffic and provides stats for the advertisers that seem to be inaccurate and fortified. IMO there are so many other local sites that do a much better job of connecting local consumers to local businesses. I can see where my business shows up on these in the natural results, and in the brief text contained in those results I can see that it is accurate and pertinent information. Or "congruent" as some would like to say.

I advertise my business on a local online site that provides me real statistics on my listings. People DO search on Google mostly for information. Then comes Yahoo, then MSN. All of the other search engines fall into place after those. I have been able to personally witness this and know that I am being found directly by people who are not only looking for me by name, but also for what services I provide.

Bottom line? Internet marketing DOES work. I have been doing it for years. The great thing about internet marketing is that you can see for yourself what shows up on the search engines for businesses like yours. If you just put yourself in the consumer's shoes and start doing searches for your product or service, you can see what comes up in the natural results. Guess what? THAT is where you start your online marketing.

Don't allow your experience with bad internet marketing keep you from marketing there. It is a source of revenue that cannot be ignored. Just do your research ahead of time, and you should be fine.
