On Tuesday, October 1st, a service call was placed to Atlanta Locksmith online.  The request was to unlock a car door.  At the time the call was placed, it was explained that there would be a $15 charge for the trip.  No additional information was provided, except that there would also be a $35 labor charge.  Once the technician arrived a full hour after the call was placed, no discussion of the price was made. He went straight to work and within five minutes the door was opened.  The bill, based on the information provided by the technician, should have been a maximum of $50 if they rounded to the nearest hour. A bill was originally presented for $149.  When asked why the bill was so much, the technician said the $35 rate was for the use of a slimjim but that the $130 mark-up was because he had to use a rod device.  Never before service was rendered were these two amounts disclosed.  It was only AFTER the door was opened and the bill was written that the amount of each option was explained.  Additionally, the prorated hourly labor charge was not accounted for anywhere on the bill.  The technician did make a phone call, and ultimately reduced the bill by $19, which brought the amount billed to $130. The technician was impatient and continued to only say 'this is how much it costs' when asked why the different rates were not discussed.
