Complaint Review: Lofty Assets Inc

Even if you are desperate, you must think twice about renting at Whispering Oaks Apartments or any of the other apartments owned by Lofty Asset Inc. You have been warned!

Terrible lying manager!

She (L.L.)emails me completed work orders which have not even been attempted.

Funniest thing is some of work orders say they were completed at 11pm even though they were emailed to me at 5pm!

I went in the office on said day to request repairs. She promised me in such a sincere way that I believed her. (Smh) She said she'd put all the work orders in and send someone the next day. I thought it was strange she said the next day when the maint. guy was standing there like he needed (even wanted) something to do.

I went along but before the night was over she emailed me all of the works orders marked as complete. Just as she has done in the past and a few days ago did again. I have finally had enough-no more rent!

There are roaches and she refuses to let the exterminator visit my apartment, even though it's included in my rent. Because she's mad at me? One day I opened my door and saw the exterminator exiting my neighbors home. He said I wasn't on the list but thank goodness he felt sorry for me and sprayed any way! 

She had my vehicle towed because of a negative review I left at apartmentratings.com. It only stated that saying one will make repairs isn't the same as actually repairing.

She said she had my Jeep towed because it had a flat tire.

When I told her that was impossible, she said she thought it was abandoned but she also says she knocked on my door to tell me? 

How can it be abandoned if it has plates, current tags+insurance and she has seen me driving it? Obviously realizing she was wrong at the last minute, she also had a notice posted to my door saying all cars would be towed to repave the parking lot. I kept waiting for her to say that was a reason as well but she never did, so I didn't mention it either. If she thought it was abandoned, why not call the city? They handle abandoned vehicles here, but no instead she calls an expensive towing company. One day was $269.

Suing her in court, of course!

When I first tried to work things out with her, she said that I should take my rent to pay the towing fees.

She said she wouldn't charge me any late fee and would give me two weeks to catch up.

I wanted to believe her but knew to be cautious. I held on to the money but didn't pay the rent. 

I also didn't pay the towing fees and wanted to wait...good thing because she served me with a 3-day notice.

If I had paid the towing fees, I wouldn't have had enough money to pay my rent along with the rest of my bills and would have been evicted. 

Mold issues and a contributing cause is the leak I reported nearly 6 months ago.

I can't wait until my lease is up!

I keep paying my rent and none of the repairs are done.

Power problems and strange surges caused my 60 inch Philips TV to go into standby with no pic/sound.

I cannot open my balcony door. Only one way out for me.

Shelf and rack fell down in my closet so I cannot hang up my clothes. 

The water kept running cold and to repair it they turned up the water heater. 

Only it's set to about 170 degrees, so I get burned all the time and they won't turn it down. 

The second the water touches my hand it burns me. I have to put the cold water on full blast all the time with a tiny bit of hot water to have a normal temperature. I think that is cruel and unusal. Because it's a simple thing to fix but I don't know how to do it. I want to try but there are screws on the panels and I can't even tell which panel controls the temp. 

My freezer goes down often, my ice cubes turn to water a few times a day.

The ac blows out black debris about 1/6 of a cotton ball and looks like that but only Jet Black.

Speaking of Jets, the a/c sounds like a jet is running when it's on in my house but even turning it off brings no relief because the neighbors is just as loud. It literally vibrates the entire left side of my house. The doors rattle and I can't sleep. I have a constant headace and I can't even think straight because of the raging hum.

The hood over the stove starting leaking when I was cooking one day.

I was disgusted because the water was brown and stinky.

I looked underneath it and I was shocked, the paint is peeling and it's all rusted and corroded. 

I never thought to look there until the water was leaking down then I looked at the cabinet above and it had roaches and water stains all over. I feel sick just thinking about it. 

My kitchen smells horrible due to the multi-site leak under the sink which they refuse to repair. They say they are waiting for parts. Meanwhile water runs through the back and then up through the middel of the floor in the kitchen right in front of the fridge. Which probably means more roaches and I am afraid of them. 

The vents are visibly dirty too, like there was a fire either here or in an adjacent apartment.

How could it look so black and dusty? I wonder if that is why the ac is so loud, maybe it's full of dirt and it can only blow out so much. 

The dirt it blows out is causing damage to my carpet. They better not try to charge me for it. 

I bet they would try. I clean it but I am not going to shampoo the carpets professionally until they make repairs. 

If I have time later I will post the copies of all the work orders I was sent as completed. 

It's kind of funny because how could they even think it looks proper to have the same exact repairs completed in April, June and August? 

Well, that is most of it. I haven't the time to list any more. 

I am not a picky person but these needed repairs are dangerous and unbearable. 

I pray they fix things.

Then again I doubt it because it's not the best neighborhood. I was trying to save $$$ but at this cost, never again!
