Due to me filing a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, I asked my girlfriend to try to obatin a car loan for me.  After getting the run around from alot of dealers, we heard that Loman may be able to help us out. After hearing their commercial on the radio, I decided to call in.  I spoke to a salesmen who assured me that they can get a deal done.  I told him what kind of car I was looking for.. an 07-09 Dodge Charger RT ..HEMI. He said that they didnt have any available but they have an 07 Chrysler 300 HEMI.  i went online and saw the car. NICE! I saw the price online and it said 10800!! I asked him if that was the price and he responded YES. I asked him if they do that double down payment like they say on the ad and he said YES. So i figured that if I put 2500 down thats like putting down 5gs and I should only be financing something like 5800.  So my girlfriend and I take a bus from NYC with our son and her Autistic daughter to the dealer. When we get there, everyone seemed nice and took to my step daughter which made her mom happy.  NOW... after a LONG delay and some numbers crunching on their part, we are approved and we can drive away at that moment. The kids are tired and we want to get out of there and they KNEW that!! I was originally told that my payment was going to be 430 a month for 27mths. COOL, I thought . 2500 down was the plan too.  He comes and says that he needs 3000 down cause we had to register the car in NYC. Ok I said. So after all is said and done, they charged me 18000 for the car, NO double down payment AND my payment is 560 a month for 56mths!!! When I asked why??!! He claimed that the BANK set the terms to do business with them and because of my girls credit problems, the double downpayment doesnt apply to us! Thats NOT what they say on the commercial! And then he tells me to come back in 8mths to refinance the car to get a better payment cause the car has "equity"!! Who is he fooling? NO car has equity! Im overpaying 10500 for this car and would like to know how to recoupe this loss. Can someone help?!

This whole "deal" stinks ON BOTH SIDES. The OP who declares bankruptcy has plenty of cash to throw around. Notice he "asked his girlfriend to OBTAIN A LOAN FOR HIM". Good luck chick. He's now a financial wizard when it comes to money. Maybe if he had been such a financial wizard in the past, he wouldn't BE in bankruptcy and have to rely on his girlfriend to buy him a car or at least use her credit. I think that's known as a straw purchase. TYPICAL LYING SCUMBAG CAR DEALER. Nothing new about the car dealer. The OP figures he's entitled to an '07-'09 Charger RT ..WITH A HEMI AT THAT but will SETTLE for a '07 300 WITH A HEMI. What a tool. He probably doesn't even know what a "HEMI" IS other then he's heard the term. No wonder he's in bankruptcy and he'll probably drag his girlfriend into it before to long with his spending habits. They'll break up and she'll be left with ONLY the car payments. I've seen it dozens of times.

No wonder you filed for chapter 13....How did you come up with this kind of money after a bankruptcy?

I think they saw you coming.

What's really amazing is, it sounds like you signed the papers. :(

"my payment is 560 a month for 56mths"

That's $31360 plus the $3000 down payment equals $34360 for your $10800 car. Sure hope you really love that car that cost about $24000 in 2007.
