Complaint Review: Lonestar Truck Group

Lonestar Truck Group Shreveport Truck Center Deceptive trade practice shreveport, Louisiana

Purchased 3 trailers from Lonestar. Was told they are DOT compliant. after picking up in shreveport and bringing back to Austin to have DOT inspection done, found that all 3 needed work.

Trailer 1 still in shop, cost in excess of $4500.00 to get DOT legal.
Trailer 2 required $485.00 worth of DOT reflective tape to be legal.
Trailer 3 required tape, brakes and drums, and 4 tires.

Was told by salesman, Brad Powell, (yes I did state his name) that they would honor the sale of DOT compliant trailers and to have repairs done. Now neither Brad or his supervisor Terry can be reached on their phones.

Will be looking at alternate means of making this right. Texas and Louisiana both have and honor the Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

In reference to the customers complaints that the three trailers he purchased were not DOT ready.

I received the customers complaint and reviewed the status if the trailers and discovered they had in fact just came in on trade and had not been inspected. Our Internet salesmen assumed they were. I contacted the customer and had him take the trailers to the closet store which was 30 miles from him and repaired the trailer. Customer had stacted he had already performed some repairs and we reimbursed hithis money for those repairs. Customer was satisfied and we apologized for this problem and have put in place a protocol to prevent this for the future.

Thanks
