We have a vehicle financed with LBAC. I injured my back and even though i had sick time to cover my missed work, I was eaten alive with copays at the doctor and medications. I called LBAC immediately when I realized that this was going to affect my ability to make payments. I asked for a one month deferral and was told that under my circumstances that would be no problem.

The first thing I had to do was give them a check over the phone for a future date to be destroyed when I Quick Collect by Western Union sent them the money. Well, they took the Quick Collect and a week later took the check by phone to the bank and there was not enough money to cover it as I had taken out the cash to do the Quick Collect. They apologized, waited 4 days for my direct deposit to hit the submitted it again. It stripped me clean but I said what the hell at least I'm up to date. I thought I would have some leeway because I had a deferral. Wrong! after my payment date passed and it got toward the end of the month they started harassing me at work at home you name it.

I finally got a really nice lady, who in the middle of her pitch, said...."Oh, Im sorry I see your'e getting a deferral" and then we exchanged pleasantries and hung up. When the second (supposed to be deferred) came due, it started all over again. Then this guy Kevin, said they didn't issue deferrals and I would have to catch up the payments and to do so I needed to make a payment with check by phone to be destroyed when I Western Unioned the cash. You fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. When I got the cash out at my bank to do the funds transfer, I also placed a stop payment on the check. I sent them the cash, and sure as shootin' that son of a b***h deposited the check too.

Then this yankee schmuck named Ron calls about the returned check, I told him the payment was stopped as I wired the money. I had reached the point I was simply one payment behind. I had made the agreement with Kevin to make a payment + 1/4 for the next four months which would bring me up to date. Ron said that was not good enough and he would take care of Kevin. Where I am at now is I am going to pay a payment and 1/2 this month and 1 1/2 next month so I will be up to date. I have ALWAYS called them first and done exactly what I said I would do. They are a bunch of first rate assholes and if I ever get away from them I will never do anything with them again.

I have already called my dealer and told them what they were dealing with and they said that they have heard that several times and will likely eventually move away from using them at all. Which I will admit may have just been smoke to get me off the phone. You dont have report after report by consumers saying the same thing if a company is doing the right thing. I run a retail business and when people are down you have to work with them or eventually when they get back up the will tell you to go to hell. Which is exactly what I plan on telling LBAC as soon as I can get away from them. I will either refinance somewhere else or trade out of the loan.
