Alliance Moving Services was hired to make my move from Indiana to Florida.  I was given a quote based on what they asked me.  They took a deposit over the phone with my credit card and said balance is paid in cash or postal money order upon delivery.

I was assured by Jordan that my household goods would be picked up on June 26th and probably delivered to Florida by the following week, as it was a short distance and going to Florida was a popular route.  I also stated that I did not want my goods in storage as that is when problems begin.  I was told that shouldn't happen as they had a mover that was coming from the northern part of Indiana and was headed to Florida.

I asked if the driver picking up my goods would be the driver delivering them to me.  That would probably be the case as long as nothing comes up in the meanwhile is what I was told.  When the 26th arrived, my goods were picked up by a company called Long Haul Van Lines, not Alliance as I was lead to believe.  The lead man, Fred was very informative with how this industry works.

After assessing my goods, I was told there would be an increase, as my furniture was wood and not pressed wood. I was either to pay by cubic feet or go with the company to have the goods weighed.  I had my car transported with a different company and therefore had no transportation back home.  I decided to go by cubic feet.  The additiional charge was another fifteen hundred dollars over the price quoted to me originally.

I had no choice but to have them take my belongings.  They wrapped and accounted for alll my goods.  These guys deserved the generous tip I gave them.  My furniture was picked up in a small box truck and I knew that it would be transferred to a larger van later.  Not very comfortable at this point, but what were my choices?

I was in Florida on the 29th of June and my car was delivered that day.  I called thge number given to me to see when my belongings would arrive.  I was told they were waiting for a truck and they would let me know when.  I asked what happened to the driver that came from northern Indiana and didn't get an answer.  Well, after many, many calls and no call backs, even though I was told I would be called back, my furnishings arrived on July 20th.

The goods came in another box car, and the driver, who was in a rush to get home for a funeral, but did ask if I would be tipping the guys, was rude and very unprofessional.  My boxes were crushed, damp and nothing like they were when they left Indiana. My expensive two piece wooden computer desk like an armoir, came into my unit unwrapped with no elastic bands on the doors.  There was a bang outside prior to the desk being delivered. When I asked where was the padding that was used to wrap the furnitue in, Joe told me we took it off.  Every other piece that was wrapped came in the unit wrapped.

I opened the bottom door of the desk, to find the door was split in two.  I was outraged to say the least.  The top piece of the desk was not placed on the bottom properly and the whole unit had scratches, misaligned tracks where the file cabinet is and where the pull out desk is.  When I complained, I was told I just pick up and deliver, I don't know anything.  Boy, is that ever an understatement.

When they were finished I asked if they were going to clean up the plastic, and boxes I had to buy from then to transport my mattress etc.  Joe said that was my responsibility, not his.  I was going to give a tip to the two guys that worked with Joe, however, he ran off so qiuckly as he knew I wanted answers and was very very upset.  They also left a mess outside my unit for me to clean up.

Well, now the fun begins with the Insurance company Moving claims.net. Getting them on the phone or they calling you back is the same as the movers.  Since I did not purchase additional insurance, heaven knows what kind of reimbusement I will receive on my wooden desk etc. etc.

It should be known by all future moves made by the public, they should steer clear of Alliance and Long Haul Van Lines, unless they want the same trouble I had or maybe worse.

It has been many months since I used Lon Haul Van Lines to move my goods from Indiana to Orlando, Fl.  If you have been following my report, you are aware of the horrible move I had.  From being overcharged to waiting for my delivery and now waiting for the Insurance Co. to pay the damages, it has been a true nightmare.

Anyone looking to move, please do not use this company unless you want to pay an additional $1,000.00 plus, have broken furniture and boxes delivered to you and wait three weeks for your belongings.  After that mess, wait for the Insurance Co. to settle.

I submitted 30 or so pictures that were labled etc. estimates on repair of my expensive all wood computer desk (185.00) and just now got a letter that they would settle with me for $64.00.  Actually it was an e mail, that I had to call the company for as they claimed they sent it out earlier.  This is not the first time I didn't receive their e mails.  I always had to call to find out the status and was told we e mailed you.

Checking spam folder, old messages etc., it never came.  This I believe is their way of putting off paying the claim. Maybe they thought I would forget?  Whenever I look at my computer desk, I can not forget the horror this company has put me through.

I intend to contact the BBB and alert them to the scam artists that Long Haul Van Lines are.

I was not misinformed, I was led down a rosy path that was really stink weeds.  My biggest problems (delay in delivery, broken furniture, rude delivery personnel were not addressed.  Therefore you must agree with my statements.  If you are the owner of this horrible company, you should revamp the personnel and take responsibility for whatever your employees do.  Hopefully many people will read this message board and boycott your services or rather lack of good expensive services.

We were promt and efficient, this customer truly could never be satisfied.Every step of the way customer was informed, and explained all of aspects of delivery, and was never over charged. When he was delivered all items were in great shape, and completly wraped. we unloaded truck, and were within the the time frame for delivery that was well before the 21 days aloted by the dept. of transportation. Some times customers are not satisfied no matter how proffesional your staff performs there job.The area after delivery was not left a mess hence no pictures from customer to support those statements. We have plenty of satisfied customers, unfortunately no matter how well we performed our jobs, the customer has the opinion he is always right.D.L.M.
