Long Island power Authority LIPA Disgrace. Unorginized. Unhelpful. Careless. Clueless. WE NEED A NEW POWER COMPANY ASAP Long Island , New York

When Sandy hit long island, we had power untill a partical roof from the building across the street ripped off and hung on the power lines infront of my house this was about 10pm on the 29th it affected 7 houses the rest of the block had power we lost two fridges and one freezer of food had a pipe brake in the celling of my kitchen and so we called to let lipa know what happened they said thay put a work order in twodays latter still nothing we called back and were told they had no idea we were out of power and said that they would not be able to help us with out the insurance co of the building being there the ins co would remove it and then lipa could fix the wires but that would take an apt and because of the storm we would have to wait till the end of november beg of december (crazy) so the next day the roof fell off of the lines and we cleared the road and called lipa to tell them that everything was clear they told us that they put a new work order in now its Thursday the 1st we asked when they couldnt answer we called the next day the 2nd and were told they had a computer glitch and we were no longer in there system so they put a new work order in again we called the next day the 3rd at this point its been six days and no answers we call again and they tell us that we still have not been assigned and maybe next week we call on the 5th monday of the next week and were told o i thougt you had a transformer problem not a line problem we will have to write a new work order for pole to pole line down then the noreaster hit on the 7th still no power now freezing and everyone in the house is sick we buy a used generator to get though the cold and use it to run the boiler we call back on the 8th to complain and they tell us again the order we have is that there is debris on the line and you need an apt. at this point i want to jump though the phone and choke her but i keept my cool and told her i called last week and told the the roof is gone and they can come fix it again i was told we will put a new work order in Friday the 9th i call again and was told we would be fixed on Sat the 10 finially so help well...... saturday came and nothing finially at the end of the day two men show up and my husband gos out to talk to them they tell him sorry were here to just see what we need to do but good news its an easy fix maybe an hour or so, so my husband said ok so lets get to it they told him sorry again we have to put another work order in to the foreman and it could be anogher 48 hours or so they also said they felt bad for us and told us that lipa has no idea what they are doing and that they spent half the day sitting around waiting for orders and they go on jobs and compleat jobs and lipa doesnt evern know thay were done and the equiptment is in really bad shape. they left we call lipa again and tell them what took place they say sorry but according to what is in the computer you should have been fixed already so i tell them well guess what were not and we still dont have power so she puts us on hold and comes back and says ok i will put a work order in about this to the foreman lets see if he responds.... no 14 days latter sunday the 11th my husband calls and demands to talk to a manager we were told that they would have to call us back in the mean time my husband got in his car and drove around the neighborhood and found a crew down the block from our house, he told them what happened and they told him sorry but your not on our orders for today so my husband says i want the foreman now and the man he was talking to said i'll tell him you problem im sure we can help with that they followed my husband 200 feet down the block were we live the workers got out and looked at the lines and told my husband that it was an easy fix and they will do it an hour and a half latter we had power thanks to an out of state company NOT LIPA if it were up to lipa we would still be out they need to be held accountable for what they have done how do you run a business like this sickening disgrace they truly do not have a clue as to what is going on and how bad there equiptment is we were also told by the out of state workers that it was a temp fix that lipa would have to come out at a latter date to fix it correctly or else we will loose power again with another storm the manager called my husband back and he told her it was fixed and that it was a temp fix she said that a work order would be put in for a perm fix and if we do not see it done in two weeks to call back LMAO r u kidding me thats all they know how to say clueless irresponsible jackasses
