WE put a wedding dress on lay-away for my neice & now she went to get her money back & they won't let her have it .so she asked if she could just get a prom dress instead of the wedding dress & they won't give her money back or let her get a prom dress. they say that she has to pay the other $200.00 for the dress or she'll be out of a wedding dress & the money that she has already put down on it.

so therefore if she don't pay the rest of what the dress cost then shes not going to have a dress or her money back!!so pretty much she has lost $200.00 & they get to pocket it & they get to still sell the dress.

they say they can't give her money back cuz they'll lose their profit but how is that when all they have to do is put it back out on the rack?? so therefore they got my neicess' money which is $200.00 & they'll put the dress back out & make another 539.00.to me that is pretty shitty!!

if they can't or won't give her money back why won't they just let her get a prom dress they won't be losing no money??

How a Business is ran ..morally right thing to do

#5Consumer Suggestion

Mon, April 07, 2003

I have a hard time understand how so many people can miss the point!

This is an off the Rack Dress, and most likely there were two more just like it in different sizes. Right next to it.

The way a business is ran is customer satisfaction, number 1. I can see charging a restocking fee.

But to keep the entire $200.00 this is straight out taking advantage of some one who is obviously going threw a bad time with her marriage being canceled. I realize There are a few facts left in wanting such as how long was the dress on layaway.

But there are a few things you may not realize at this time, one day Amber will get married.
And she may one day have daughters of her own who will need first prom dresses and later wedding dresses, then there are the others in her family with Daughters Who will also need Prom dresses and wedding dresses. do you think they will even step foot inside Loree's Bridal.
This little stint of greed has cost you thousands in times to come.

Now who needs to know how a business is ran Mrs Anonymous.

The morally right thing to do is to Charge a restocking fee or let her exchange it or at least an in store credit. Any thing else is greed.

To me This is not a stupid post when some one feels they are a victim they have the right to express it.

But its nice to see all of Loree's Adult Friends attacking a Young girl! As shown in you're replies, Amber is not the only one who may need to get an education In Pittsburg Kansas .

I can't think of a better bridal and prom store to shop

Bravo Loree's for standing behind your store policy, that's what it is for. I have personnally purchased several dresses from Loree's myself and doing so have always been told in advance about exchanges, and refunds. It is also posted in the store and on all my sales receipts so maybe this bride needs to read alittle better before purchasing or know at a high school level if she wants to get married or go to prom. The owner of Loree's has always been more than helpful and accomidating to me and all of my daughters. I can't think of a better bridal and prom store to shop and I'm sure there are many others who would agree with me.
Loree's keep doing whatever you are doing because you definitly have far more satisfied customers than not!!!!!
Thanks also for supplying our area with such a wonderful selection of dresses!

You need to decide if you are getting married or not, hello!!!

Can you really expect a business to give you your money back just because you decide not to get married? Your whole argument sounds so stupid! Please! You waited way to long to ask for such a gift!!! And I must say it would have been a generous gift for the store to give you your money back! Give me a break! Besides, it sounds like you are still in High School! What are you doing deciding between a prom dress and a wedding dress anyway!!! Get a life!!! Get an education and learn how to spell! You go Loree's! More power to you!

I think people need to know how a business is ran. They should have made for sure she was getting married before you bought a dress, I mean you are only in high school. Also, if you would have wanted to exchange a few days after it would have been different but obviously you waited a while. Also, before something is put on the internet make sure it sounds appropriate. I think that this is just stupid for putting something like this on the internet and from what I have heard it hasn't hurt the business any.
