Today I received a letter from Spain, telling me that I have won a lump sum payment of 615,810.-. To get this sum I should tell them my bank account information and permit them to take 10% of the whole sum for there services (transfair). They also asked me, not to tell anyone about this, because there might be others to claim this sum instead of me (!?).

But luckily I searched the internet and got some good informations.
What is new, I found no one from Germany (where I do live). But maybe, it just started. So be aware!

Hallo Verena,

Internet scams are international. Ich bin deutsch und lebe in der US und bin froh Sie sind auf die mail nicht weiter eingegangen.

I have posted suggestions and warnings regarding these internet scams and fraudulent mails. My motto, ye more publicity warnings, ye harder for these bums to defraud and destroy peoples life.

Nevertheless, after intense research most scams are not only riddled with fraudulent offers but also mailing addresses such as lotteries from Spain have a Canadian e-mail, and UK lotteries have a Russian, US or Nigerian e-mail sender. Even the phone numbers that some cons provide are bogus. I traced one supposed foreign British number back to New Jersey and when I ask the jerk how come.. He hangs up.

The only consensus is the currency namely English pounds that at times will be transfered into dollars.

Another twist to get people to cooperate after refusing divulging there bank account info is that any accrued expenses want be deducted from your winnings and you have two options.

1. Make arrangements with to you provided so called Courier Company namely world known FedEx or Ups so people will trust such arrangements. When contacting these courier companies as suggested by these cons you will get a rude awakening. You have to pay tenth of thousands of dollars in order to obtain your bogus winnings. These payments made by you goes to the con of course since your money finance his lavish life-style and any current or new scam they can come up with.

2. Pick up your winnings in person. Well, people have done that only to be taking for no more then a fraudulent, bogus, and criminal adventure trip. Ones you arrive at given destination you better of just enjoying the sides and culture since there are no contacts, bogus addresses, and phone numbers that are now out of service or never existed. Any contact on foreign soil will be only to steal and defraud you even more and local authority are most likely looking at you as someone that conspires with these criminals.
