Loteria Primitiva International Programme Santa Lucia Security Company S.A International Lottery Rip Off, IDENTITY THEFT! Madrid, Spain
Received a letter today, apparently from the Spanish lottery stating that we had won 615,810.00 euros in an International Lottery Commision run by Loteria Primitiva.
Supposedly the brand new Loteria Primitiva International Programme awarded us with this money after our ticket (number 025-11-464-992-750) won with the numbers 13-15-16-21-34-36.
I did some research because this was clearly a scam. No such Lottery commision exists, Spain is a hotbed for companies using the Spanish Lottery (Loteria Primitiva) to pull off scams such as this. To add I have seen letters others have recieved (a couple on this site) and each have the same ticket number AND winning lottery numbers as well as winning amount.
The letter states that you have to send your details and pay 10% of your winnings to the Santa Lucia Security Company S.A.
a) the spanish lottery is tax and fee free
b) you do not have to give your bank details like the letter suggests you would have to
c) the letter and many other scams like this state that there is a deadline for claiming and paying this fee
The scam is actually part of an identity theft. The security company take your details, steal your identity and then are given to felons to use, cards are taken out in your name, money is spent and even crimes committed.
