My mom bought our family a Jack Russell Terrier puppy for Christmas. We received the puppy from Lovepuppies located in (Missouri) on January 24, 2008 via air travel. The puppy was 10 weeks old when we got her and supposedly had a clean bill of health from the Veternary Clinic Lovedpuppies uses in Missouri. We took the puppy to a local Vetinary Clinic on Tuesday January 29th (just 4 days later) to have a routine checkup completed and we were devistated with the findings we received. Our Puppyhad the following infections earmites, giardia, coccidia and hookworm. I contacted the breeder Medora Blasengym to let her know about the infections and her response was some of the other puppies had it also and she guessed the medicine they were using didn't work and this is very common amoung young puppies. Our Vet stated "he couldn't see how how that puppy could have been given a clean bill of health when the earmites were so bad you could see them just by looking at the outer ear" Oue Vet also informed us that most of these infections are cause by unclean kennels and puppies not being well taken care of. I sent copies of our bills to the breeder and requested she pay us for the out of pocket costs we incurred but to this date that never happended. We wrote it off as Lovepuppies just will not stand behind their puppies. Be very careful when buying a puppy from an out of state breeder. Once they ship it they forget all about their responsibilities. I wish we would have purchased ours from a local breeder.

LovedPuppies - In love with my Boston Terrier

I bought my Boston Terrier in August of 2009 (it is now March, 2011).  Lucy will turn 2 this year.  I can nothing but good things about Medora.  Lucy is everything I dreamed she would be and more.  One week after I picked her up (I drove to Southern Missouri....no shipping for me) she started having blood in her stool.  My first thought was Parvo.....what have I done?  I rushed her to the animal emergency clinic.........turned out to be coccidia......the vet said this is very common in breeder dogs...nothing to get alarmed about...........

Medora was great......I could tell when I picked Lucy up that Medora loved her and was going to miss her.  She sent me pictures of Lucy's progress as a baby.......I am actually considering another Boston Terrier puppy and WILL buy from Medora again.........People like the complainer here........give good breeders bad names......these people will NEVER be happy......I am very Happy......Thank you Medora........Lucy is the love of my life!!!!!!

LOVE BLUE

My husband and I looked for a breeder who actually cared for their animals. We found Medora and she was awesome. First, she gave us pictures every week of our Boston Terrier (Blue Boy) to show our 18 month old son.

My son loved Blue before he laid eyes on him and when Blue was old enough, she sent him to us. Medora told us what to expect when small puppies travel, what food eat was eating, and sent his favorite toy along for a easy transition.

We took Blue to the Vet the day after we got him and he was perfect. WE LOVE BLUE and my now 8 month old son love him too. Blue is full of energy and loving family member. If his environment that he was born into was not healthy, Blue would of been a product of his environment.

All the illnesses mention in the original report are very contagious and any dog can receive them, existing pet or new. A puppy is like a new born, if you receive them a little ill you are, as the parent, going to nurse them back to health regardless of cost.

Medora is not a bad breeder. She is a loving person and care for her animals like her boys. I will return to buy another puppy from her even though I live in Connecticut.

Thank you for posting a "good" interaction with LovedPuppies.com (Medora Missouri).....  I too will be receiving my puppy soon and I kept seeing this same bad experience posted on this site as well as similar sites. I too asked myself "what did I just do?", however seeing that it went well for you let me know that sometimes you cant go off just one persons experience. Its been 2 years since the original post and LovedPuppies has sold more than just that one yorkie.......if they were as bad in their customer service as Jerry stated, or continuously shipped sick puppies I would think there would be a lot more postings about other consumers horrible experiences.......BUT THERE ISN'T!

That is part of the hiccup in advertising. If a customer has a grand experience he/she may share it with a few people. But if a customer feels they were done injustice then they will do just what Jerry did and more so the world can know (why cant we as consumers share a great experiences with the same enthusiasm as if it were a bad experience????). So, the business could really be outstanding but due to how bad experiences travel a lot farther and create a deeper depth then "good word of mouth", many business become victims to the "bad mouthing".  The great thing about this is that LovedPuppies didnt crumble at the fate hoped for by Jerry....they are breeding strong and uniting loved pups with loving owners..... which soon I will be united with my adorable loved pup.

My husband and I will personally be driving to thier location to manually pick up our 8week puppy. I am excited and from speaking with Medora I understand how she does love her career as a Breeder and will see to it that the customers are satisfied with thier LovedPuppies.

not all have had bad luck

I bought a yorkie from loved puppies after reading this rip off report. I was worried when my little bundle of joy arrived at the airport. What had I done?? After we got to the airport, and found out where he was and saw all of the dogs being shipped, I thought, what a huge mistake!! When we got back to the car, and through the tunnels, and got home, i took my yorkie out of his crate, and asked my boyfriend, omg! what did we get????. Anyway, we cleaned him up and fed him and gave him some love, and NOW I am asking, how did we live without him!!!!!!

The reason I am writing this is... Not everyone has a bad experience, and because one person does, does not give them the right to try to destroy someone because they did not get exactly what they want.

I spoke to both the breeder (who happens to love her puppies VERY much) and the person who does the sales. (ALSO someone who cares VERY much.)

Anyway, you really have to consider two things when reading this site. How much does the unhappy person have to lose by bad mouthing someone because they are not happy with what they got, or is there ALWAYS going to be someone that will never be happy with what they got...

I Love my Yorkie and would never ever give him up. The breeder even said if for any reason, she woul take him back..

Sorry Patty, Fred is here to stay!!!!

Sincerely,

A very satisfied Yorkie owner.

Loved Puppies and the real truth!!!

#8Author of original report

Wed, May 07, 2008

Medora Blasengym entered a rebuttal to the original report and made some statements that were far from the truth. I just wanted to clarify a couple of things. She claimed she treated our puppy before sending it but in an e-mail she sent to me she apologizes and states she should should have treated the earmites because some of the other puppies had them. She claimed her vet gave our puppy a clean bill of health.

We contacted the vet in Missouri and they stated the puppy was seen on 1/22/08 but for a heart and temperature check only. Our puppy was not tested for any of the illnesses she had when we got her 2 days later and making a statement that the trip caused all of these issues is absurd. Giardia, Coccidia, Hookworm and Earmites all due to stress is a little suspicious and far fetched. Medora talks about the health guarantee but it Cleary states in the health guarantee that if the puppy has a terminal condition or dies they will stand behind their product. I guess if they send you a sick puppy that doesn't count for anything. "Medora states that getting a puppy is an investment". Well, Buying from Loved Puppies is a bad investment and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone in the future! These are the facts and I have documentation to back up my allegations. Loved Puppies is just another example of poor customer service in the world today! Loved Puppies is just in it to make a buck!!!

#8Consumer Suggestion

Tue, May 06, 2008

I do not agree with this claim, the unsanitary conditions they claim these puppies are raised in is absolutely not true as we are USDA and Missouri State Licensed and they come to inspect on a regular basis. The puppy they received, I sold for a friend on the internet and they in fact, received a clean bill of health from our vet. The conditions they claim the puppy to have had probably contacted them enroute to their location through travel. Travel induces stress in little puppies and we have recommended they read about the obove conditions the said puppy had in which they were not open to. It is very common in puppies that travel to their destinations. We did not have other puppies sick and sent theirs anyway and we also stated that we did in fact treat the puppies with preventative medicines before they left. Our Health guarantee also states that we do not cover vet expenses incurred in which they did sign. Their vet had overcharged them for minor preventative measures and they wanted us to pay for it all. When you purchase a small puppy from a breeder or even a pet store for that matter, it is an investment and most people don't realize that. It takes shots and medicines to build their immune systems up to par.
