If I could review this lower than a 1-star I would. I purchased my car last year on 8/10/12 and bought it for $7500.00. Financed through Prime and they weren't all that bad. Prime that is. It was an 07' PT Cruiser and had issues the day after I bought it. From a tire popping, belts breaking, battery and on and on and on. The service center always had attitude and I was in there 7 times before I gave up on the car. Also, I had the extended warranty and the only good that came out of this was the free tow truck- which I used 5 times. Not to mention, the car shut off 3 times.

Once on I-215 during rush hour in the morning, another time getting off the interstate exit during a snow storm, and another time when a cop was behind me. This car is a complete wreck. Luke Hansen (the guy who sold me the car) swore up and down on un-fulfilled promises. Not to mention, was pretty creepy in the whole process. I felt pressured and when I mentioned I needed to wait and think about it- nope, they basically told me it will be hard to get the banks approval next time since my credit isn't great.

I was in need of a new car and went with it. The other issue I had was that they initially told me $2000.00 for a down payment. Then they call me a day later asking for another $1000.00. I was a college student and didn't have this kind of money but was able to get it together and gave them $3000.00. Overall, I have put $12,000+ including repairs into this car in a year's time. So, I start shopping around at other dealerships and start unfolding LBS lies. They only report to one credit company so basically, with you paying on time, it will never get your credit anywhere.

Maybe a few notches up but nothing that Luke promised. He said it would go up 100 points. I did in fact, go in to LBS in July to talk about refinancing (which Luke stated was another option to lower my payment) and Paul told me absolutely not. They will not refinance that car. At that point- they were going to offer me under $1000 for the car and wanted me to fork out ANOTHER $2000 for a down payment and into another crappy car. I said no way! So I waited it out a couple months later and found my dream car at a Volkswagon dealership. Boom bam they got me into a newer car, low miles, and same payment range as LBS.

But they couldn't trade my car because of the contract Low Book has with Prime Auto and because they are a high rate bank. They offered me $4000.00 at the time for the trade-in but due to that with Prime- they couldn't make the trade. They told me to go to Low Book and negotiate an offer with them to sell it back. So I did just that last night and out of every business I have encountered- this by far left me in tears and was beyond offended. Feeling abused, talked down to and couldn't believe I gave LBS my business. I pulled in around 6:30 pm and it looks like they are under construction.

Get out of my car and there were at least 10-15 sales guys just standing there, smoking cigarettes, none of them greeted me and I HAD to go and approach one of them. I asked a group of 3 about selling my vehicle and they all stood there saying NOTHING. Finally, Eliseo Sanelias steps up and walks to the office. No formal greeting, just a "follow me" and that was that. His demeanor was unreal and so unprofessional right away. Which immediately turned me off and could tell this wasn't going to be pleasant. We sit at the computer (which mind you there were two other customers in the office we were in- which already seems a little unprofessional to me)

Starts asking me why I didn't trade it into Low Book and I told him what happened in July and what I experienced with the car they sold me and said, I would never trust buying a car from them again. Seeing how his attitude was going- I recorded the conversation on my phone for back-up. I tell him what the other dealerships told me and funny- both Subaru and Volkswagon said the same exact things about LBS and they do not know how they are still in business. This continues and starts explaining how I got ripped-off by Volkswagon and how they would have given me $2000 for my trade-in. $1000 from the bank and $1000 from Low Book. NOWHERE did Paul say that to me when I came in to talk to someone in July.

He starts with his attitude at this point and mind you says, "Well they are all bullshitting you". Which again, is beyond unprofessional at this point. He leaves to go get the car appraised and while we are walking into the waiting room- he asks what I'm looking to get. I said I just want to car gone. Somewhere to negotiate. He laughs- "Well I don't think you are going to get much...". Yeah, thanks a lot so somewhere I knew he was being shady. At Subaru, they mentioned it could get $2000 and maybe $3000 but the down-payment was too high for me to get the car I wanted so I said no. Keep that in mind, so Eliseo comes back and gives me the paper with so much attitude and says, that's all we can do. $300!!!!!

I am in complete shock and he says it's because of the denting on the side of the car. I had an incident to the passenger side and there is denting. HOWEVER, these other dealerships quoted me on this so how in the world did it go down to $300? When I got it quoted- it was at about 20-50 miles difference than what it is now for the miles on it. He's telling me that's why it's that low. So we go back into this office with now 4 more people in there and starts telling me why I've done everything wrong. I've made ALL my payments on time and never missed ONE. I asked him how they managed to sell me a car for $7500 that is now worth $300 a year later?? He had NO response! Never late and nothing. He's telling me that Volkswagon screwed me over and I need to get the door fixed.

So I ask- if I get it fixed what would be the ballpark for that appraisal. He kept saying- he didn't know and did he look like a finance guy. He then starts telling me my credit sucks and I'm not doing anything to help it- to which pulls up my credit report and starts reading them off in front of 4 people to which I am telling him to not do that. And he CONTINUES and gets LOUDER! At that point- I had enough and grabbed my things. What does he say to me as I'm leaving, "You will be getting your car repossessed and your credit is going to go down so much and good luck with that after 10 years!" And laughs! That was how I was I treated as I left! Being a customer and sticking it out for a year. NEVER will I ever go back to this place! I will figure out a way to pay off this car and certainly, I hope Eliseo learns how to deal with customers and take his "professional attitude" somewhere else! I have never felt so abused in my life and left crying! Is it worth it to complain to management? Probably not- but best believe I will make SURE to write this review anywhere I can!

Wow, I think you did the right thing by walking out

It is a real shame you had to go through that experience with the LBS low ball quote on your car. You absolutely did the right thing by walking out of there. You might have other options too.

Take the car to CARMAX and see if they will give you a quote to buy your vehicle. It still might be upside down, but they probably will offer more than $300. If not, or they decline to purchase, see if you can sell it on your own to a private individual.

You might need to get a loan from a credit union for the difference so you can deliver clear title.

If you are too upside down to do that, then do whatever you have to do to pay off the loan as fast as possible so you minimize the interest you pay on the car and get closer to getting the car you want from a better dealer. This might mean you pick up a second job for a while to earn extra income or sell un-used items you have around your house to gather up the funds to pay off the loan. Keep your chin up. Don't let the people at LBS bring you down.
