Lowes Extended Warranty poor service San Antonio Texas
South Texas Appliance Repair: Lowes uses this company for warranty service on their extended service plans. Save your money. They only service an area certain days so when I called on Friday the next AM appointment was the next Thursday. They showed up at 1:30 PM with no call or apology. Needed to order part, I asked when it would be in, Tech called office and said Monday or Tuesday. Requested we set next appointment to avoid delays, they refused. Called them Tuesday PM, part not in and said takes 7-10 days. Called Lowes on Wednesday. Lowes called back Thursday, said part was due in today, first appointment available next Tuesday. Lowes says nothing they can do. IF it gets fixed next Tuesday, it will be almost 3 weeks to fix my Maytag washer. When I factor in the cost of laundromat plus the cost of extended warranty, would have been cheaper and much more convenient to pay out of pocket.

I don't know what the issue is? Call the number listed on the checkout paperwork, they will schedule a repair. Seems simple to me, they pay and I get it fixed. My dryer needed repairs and yes it took a month but I paid nothing! If I didn't have the warranty it would have cost me around $300 and it would have taken the same amount of time. I agree that you people need to read what you are buying and understand it before you expect miracles.

I purchased the extended warranty, and my laundry costs are covered until the repair. Did you call the 800 # on the paperwork. Did you read the booklet provided at the register when you checked out?

I am also having problems with this same company, and you have no idea what I, or anyone else, knows.
I just got off the phone with the company doing the repair, and LOWES is the reason for the delay. You need to accept that Lowes is no different from most when it comes to warranties.
Most warranties are a bunch of bunk. They take your money and then don't provide what is promised.
Lowes doesn't want to pay for the parts, so they are denying the repair company the parts. Where in that sentence is the delay anyone's fault but Lowes?!
You really have some nerve telling consumers:
"but you'll b***h and moan about the service that your not paying for. Next time, don't buy the plan, wait just as long for service, and pay for it yourself."
Hello? Do you think the warranty was free? NO, it was not. We paid dearly for this warranty. So YES, we ARE "paying for" the repairs. You should know that.
(By the way, it's "you're", not "your" not paying for...where is that education?)
I have paid for an unwarrantied washer repair out of my own pocket in the past. Guess what? It wa fixed in two days.
I am now on day 10 without a washer with 6 people in this house. Parts are nowhere to be found, thanks to Lowes' refusal to pay for them.
Lowes has my money for the warranty. They owe the consumer a timely repair.
Period.

I doubt any of you read your terms and conditions. Many of you don't even know how insurance/warranties/contracts work, but you'll b***h and moan about the service that your not paying for. Next time, don't buy the plan, wait just as long for service, and pay for it yourself. The plan basically is there to pay for the service. I used to work for Service Advantage, and guess what..90% of you have absolutely no idea what you were covered for, or what you were actually entitled too. Thats not our fault, thats your fault. I've bought plans, and since I am an EDUCATED consumer, who takes the TIME to know what I'm buying, I've never had a problem getting things fixed through warranties or contracts.
As far as parts go, your terms and conditions clearly state: "Availability of Services:While we try to complete service as quickly as possible,
We are not responsible for delays caused by factors beyond Our control,
including but not limited to manufacturer's parts delays, shipping to a regional
service facility, or Acts of God." Lowe's Service Advantage does not have control over service center scheduling.
