I purchased 11, 6x8' Dogear fence sections. A friend finished putting it up the 3rd wk of May. I am 66 yrs old, disabled from spinal surgery since 1991. I live alone and try to keep a nice home and yard. With many flowers, decorations and a dog .I needed to put up the fence for practicality and privacy.

Lowes had 3 grades of this fence and I chose the best. Now I see a daily display of warping and buckleing. I have a privacy fence that you can now see through. The nails are popping out. I am sick about this. I called Lowes several times. Each time I am on hold and transfered from one employee to another. No one seemed to be in charge. I insisted on someone coming to see the fence. Now after many calls and being told that someone would be out I have called yet again, I reached the so-called man in charge named "Cris". I was told by him thst He had never heard about my situation. He said I could get new wood, removed from my property and more would be sent to me. I stated that I could not afford to pay to have the fence removed and reconstructed. He told me I should have had Lowes install my fence and them it would all be taken care of at no charge to me. I could not afford to have them do it. I also have done most home repairs myself with the help of friends and children. I depend on a place like Lowes to supply me with the materials I need.

It has been two weeks since I first called. I was told that a suitable employee would be chosen to come out to my home and take pictures and evaluate the problem. He also stated that he would call back to get directions to my home. I have had no further communications with Lowes. Cris insisted they would only give me new sections of fence and that won't do. I have a nice home, nice yard and a fence that looks terrible. I can not believe that this wood was the best grade, extreme weather treated, and is literly falling
apart.

Please help me get some restitution for my lost. I an assamed to have people see my brand new
fence.
Thank you for you time and consideration.

Here's the thing Lowe's does not warrenty any product sold only labor of what is installed. Why do poeple always want to hold the wrong people accountable for their stupity. The fence should have been sealed by who ever installed it. All wood has to have a sealer applied to it if it is outside. Come on even a tree has bark. It is things like this that cause prices to go to the sky. Lowe's is not responsable for this fence because Lowe's did not make the wood nor install it. Lowe's is a store. Lowe's does not make the product it sells. lowe's only provides you a place to purchase these items. Why doesn't anyone get it.

Sorry to read of your alleged disability but I see no mention about treatment of the wood to prevent it from warping-which I would assume is somehow Lowes fault also.
Wood will warp from moisture without paint or sealer applied to it-regardless of if it's "top of the line". The only maintenance free fencing that is sold is the quite expensive vinyl.

Once again. Lowe's sticks it to the consumer. Their guarantees suck and the employee's suck worse!!! I was trying to buy fencing material at our new store in Gainesville, FL, when 4 employees decided it was much more important to check out a friend's new pickup truck than to wait on customers. I complained to the front desk and wrote a letter also. The franchise owner did little to try to resolve the issue, so I don't shop at Lowe's anymore.

Unfortunately it's not their fault if someone besides Lowe's installs it. They will simply say it was not installed correctly and you are out of luck.

At least they are willing to replace the supplies, why not get someone else to re-install it?

It seems like the problem here is the person that installed your fence. You should be appreciative that Lowe's would come out and attempt to help you. Normally, wood doesn't warp in that short of time and if it was already warped (which I doubt), then your friend that assembled the fence is to blame. Next time, pay a professional to do it and save everyone a lot of hassle.
