My girlfriend purchased a vehicle that was sold with a Lubrico warranty at a fairly hefty expense but promised good coverage for the vehicle.  She followed their oil change schedule but on rare occasion couldn't it done before the exact mileage listed.  She required a reliable vehicle therefor kept up on it's maintenance.  During the time she has owned the vehicle it has had several oil changes working out to an average oil change of every 1.8 months.  Now her timing belt failed causing extreme damage to the engine.  This shouldn't have been much of an issue as she had extended warranty coverage.  The Lubrico authorized mechanic sent their information regarding the vehicle to Lubrico to which they replied that the warranty was void.  Upon contacting Lubrico they stated that the warranty was void because not all oil changes were done as per their maintenance schedule.  They also initially stated that this was the cause of the timing belt failure.  That was a complete lie (confirmed by a GM mechanic) and when told that a timing belt failure was not oil related they said that was beside the point and stated the warranty was void due to not exactly following their maintenance schedule.  They told her that her warranty was now garbage with a 'haha you're screwed' attitude.  An average oil change of every 1.8 months is not vehicle neglect yet they blamed her for what happened to the engine and void her warranty.  To me this is theft and should not be allowed.  This company took a good sum of money then made sure they didn't have to pay out.  The engine failure was not neglect nor was it oil related (confirmed by a mechanic), it was a part failure that should have been covered and the whole point of having a warranty.  Between a useless warranty plus the repair she is out more money than the vehicle was purchased for.  Some research has uncovered others who have had warranty claim problems through Lubrico as well.

Hi,

I am new to this site- found this site- just after I bought a Lubrico Warranty ! I liked the dealer where I bought this used truck , so I thought , why not get extended coverage?

I have not had a claim as yet, but while looking on the internet- I Noticed that many claimcomplaints of warranty issues with Lubrico-Canada were resolved with the help of the London,Ontario BBB(Better Business Bureau) of all people !!
I saw 8 out of 9 total complaints resolved by the BBB; so maybe you can get something resolved by going this route .

Just a suggestion. Hope this helps.  Maybe this is worth remembering for any issues in the future .

Cheers, Greg
