The way and demeanor by which you and those like you defend Scenutra is the wrong way to do it. I'm Serious! Your PR is a total joke! Take steps to repair your reputation and perhaps you'll see less people reporting to this site. Actions speak louder than calling people a WPS, terrorist or blowout just because they didn't play into your brainwashing tactics.

Yet another typical brainwashed response from another Scentura Cult Member. I find it funny the way Scentura Cult Leaders talk down on people and call them a weak piece of s*it or a terrorist rather than trying to repair their joke of a company's reputation. Honestly, Scentura's PR has got to to be the worst EVER!

Let me start off by saying that I never worked for any Scentura office, I'm in law school, I've already had a great career for years. You see I did it the hard way unlike Mr. Ewers and these other Scentura clowns. I started out in troubleshooting with Comcast (AT&T Broadband at the time) before college. While in college I did direct sales for Primerica and Vector during my summer breaks. After college I went into Human Resources for a small medical provider of home healthcare and in two years I moved my way up to VP of the department. Three years ago I accepted an offer to become CEO of a small company that specializes in adult education. One year ago I enrolled part-time in Law School. I've had several people tell me first hand about the unethical business practices these Scentura cult leaders engage in.

Did I make as much as these scentura cult leaders claim to make while moving my way up? No. But I did it honestly, without scamming people and I am now making 6 figures and I know a thing or two about running a business.

You see I provide my employees with benefits including health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, disability and life insurance upon hire, Scentura provides none.

I pay all my employees for the hours they WORK plus time and half for anything over 40 hours per week, plus bonuses for bringing in new business. Scentura pays only commission.

When we're looking for sales people we advertise for sales people, not managers. Have good sales people been promoted? You bet. But we also have an Accounting department, a Human Resources department, a PR department an IT department plus all our teachers and case managers. I personally would prefer hiring people with
experience in their respective fields where as Scentura will bring on any idiot off the street as long as they're easily brainwashed or plain just greedy.

First off let me introduce myself. My name is Joseph Ewer and I own a branch in Seattle Washington. I went through training in Portland Oregon with the branch owners of the Beaverton branch. I am 21 years old and I own a business.

Honestly I am sick and tired of all the complaints on the internet about Scentura. Listen, if you have problems with the company then you are extreamly weak. If you had ACTUALLY listened to the interviews and orientations then you would understand this company.

I read a lot about how all you weak people think we are scam artist and that you think we are uneducated. I will admit that I have no papers verifying that I graduated any school but I did get my G.E.D. and I started attending college at the age of 15. If anyone wants to call any of us uneducated then you should look at yourself first. Get a dictionary, hooked on phonics, or at least a spell check... you guys make yourselves look stupid!

Honestly I had to work VERY hard to make it through training. Good work ethic is what a lot of you blow outs lack. People today are the layzist they have been ever! If any of you had been thrown into the 1800's you would probably kill yourselves... As one of my business associates so eloquently put it "I would sell dildos on the street for a year if it ment I could own my own business" America was founded on the basis of free enterprise. People come from all over the world to own their own business. If anyone of you blow outs wants to go work a "job" then be my guest... You will be slaves to somebody else. With the Scentura opportunity you get to set your own self worth. I quit working a "job" because I didn't want anybody else to tell me that I was only worth $8/hr. I'm not talking about FedEx, don't change the subject. This is for independent study for 1 extra credit hour which was approved by my professor. Scentura is like a virus in our area and several fellow students have complained.

I researched the extortion claims but it changes nothing because the reports on this site match those of the students who have complained. People who've been scammed and want businesses like yours shut down have an advocate to help us achieve our goal.

Scentura offices get shut down all the time. Plus, if you've done YOUR research you'll see that the Illinois Attorney General's office filed lawsuits against Scentura in 2003 & 2004.

So you say I need to stop calling people names? Well given the manner in which owners have talked to people and responded on this site it appears to be the only way to get through to your brainwashed crooked jerk-offs.

You are correct about the appellate court being an appeals court.  What you're not correct about is the level of it's jurisdiction.  It is the lowest level court just above small claims.  I'm ignoring small claims because this has nothing to do with small claims. 


About your challenge.  I find it just silly to try to defame a company over 1 case.  Do you realize that pyramid schemes are illegal in the US?  But yet 34 years and still not one government branch has even tried to shut it down?   Why is that?  Well that's because it's not a pyramid scheme.  Nothing stays open for 34 years strong and continues to be a scam w/o some sort government body shutting locations down.

Unfortunately, just like any other company with independently owned locations, not everyone does the right thing.  You get through the program and learn the business you get an office.  It's that simple.  You don't have to pay it back, you don't have to put money into it.   You work as hard as you want to work.  You are your own boss throughout the entire relationship with Scentura.  All these people making all these accusations have no hard evidence. 

Court decisions are so biased all the time when it comes to businesses.  Check out fed ex.  They had drivers sue them in NY State and CA for the same exact charge.  Fed Ex won in NY State but lost in CA.  Read up on it.

You're totally wrong Tom! Appellate Courts are the second level, not the lowest court decision makers as you put it. You can call this factual case biased or a joke if you want but it's the only Scentura related case on record. As soon as another Dan Long comes along and it goes to court again they will rule similarly. I challenge you to produce another court case that says different.

I'm gonna start from the middle here, I'd be and I'm sure any office manager would be more then happy to show you my business lic.  And as a matter of fact you have to have several including a: DBA license, Retail sales License, City License, and a Occupancy License.  And they have to be renewed every so often.  That would prove I'm legit.  But if you want I'd be more than happy to compare my last 6 years of taxes with your last 6 years if that satisfies you? 

Now you say you've showed me a "real court cast that ruled my contract was illegal"  First of all I don't believe it.  And if you'd be more than happy to give me your legal first and last name and your date of birth I'd be more than happy to create a website that says lots of very nice things about who you are.  Second that was a contract between Dan Long and Scentura, not with me and anyone.  I agree that I don't understand the language I graduated high school not law school.  Third this was back in 1999 dumb a*s.  I wasn't even in the business then, so I could care less. 

Now I'm not ignorant I've been told the story about Dan Long and Scentura and I believe the Scentura side.  Here's a cliff notes version:  I was told he was in the business about 7 years.  Did very well became a regional manager was makeing a large six figure income.  He had serious problems in his personal life and was making lots of bad decisions and it started giving the company a bad rep.  Was told to screw-off and blew out and went to another wholesale fragrance company, World Perfume (who we are not), and continued his crap there until the company went under. 

So there is a little info maybe you didn't have??  Now next, I don't run a pyramid because they are illegal.  First of all in a pyramid there has to be some sort of investment or collateral, our business there is none of monetary value.  It's blood, sweat, and tears for about 90 days. 

Next.  I've never had anyone in my operation get arrested for selling our product.  I've had people get arrested in the field, but it was because they had warrants for things they had done outside the business.  Next, what we do is not illegal we do business to business sales that is not illegal.  If we sell in a parking lot, that is private property and if we get asked to leave we do.  The only people I've ever had get ticked in my operation are the ones that didn't leave, which was for trespassing.  And every soliciting ticket any person ever got didn't stand up in court as soon as we showed our sales lic.  And yes I paid the tickets that my people got that were their faults anyways.

So here's the facts now:  We are a direct sales company.  If you apply you apply to run or assist in running, or manage or assist in managing a new office in our company.  There is a 90 day hands on learning program where you'll learn every aspect of our business from sales and marketing, to teaching, training, and leadership, to admin and managing on of our offices.  Income during the training is a average of $200-$500 a week based upon sales profits, bonuses and overrides.  Income upon completing in Unlimited.  Some successful managers make 40k others make over a million a year.

By the way if you can't show proof that your operation is legit at least answer this. How come there are multiple reports on this site of people getting ticketed and in some cases arrested for soliciting your product?

Here we go again, two more people that have came in for a interview and are now experts on the business.  Funny thing is it's almost christmas and they are probably still unemployed.  We are talking 8-9 months now.  They would be running their own offices by now. 

So heres the choice.  You choose to buy the bull-sh*t or you choose to believe successful people.  You can go home with a sack of sh*t or a bank account full of money.  I choose the money.  It's not that money can buy you happiniess but it solves a lot of problems before they happen.  These two people; Pjm and Vonquale; post almost the same crap and they are both unemployed.  The one guy even says the office was furnished "very professional"  and the other office was a "crappy little place" they were obviously two different offices.  The one guy mentions "Jeremy" if it's the same guy I believe that it is his office is the number one distribution center for the year to date.  And he's a young Regional manager so by definition he has to make about $350 thousand this year.  Not bad for being twenty something I guess.  So then the question is how much does your unemployment pay? 

It's always the same complaints how could we be more direct?  We tell them in the interview process we are a wholesale fragrance company, they will be expected to learn all aspects of the business from sales to leadership to management.  Both of these idiots went in for a first interview, thats it thats all.  Why don't you sit down with Jeremy face to face or any other successful office manager and cover the crap.  You never read posts about people that have been in the business for over 5 years and are making a 6 figure income.  It's almost always the blow-outs or the handfull of internet terrorist that pile onto these post with the same crap.  Why don't you post that over 100 millionaires have been created because of this business.  Why don't you post the number of people that have made 6 figure incomes because of this business.  Those are facts not assumptions like these two idiots.

Like I said I went through training in New Jersey and I got the freedom to move to Maryland. Any person with a brain can look at all these negative letters and see that people run offices all over the country. So ask yourself, how did they get there? They got promoted there obviously. Running your own business isn't going to happen overnight, it takes more time and dedication to be successful in this and in any business. Thanks to the two guys who wrote this report! I too have been looking for work for MONTHS! I have ran into a couple of scams on craigslist and this one made my spider senses tingle. I am desperate for work, and when I saw this posting I immediately called and set up and interview. I was pumped that I actually had an interview. But something felt wrong. They didn't say what I would be doing or what the pay would be, and the name of the company was not posted. They called me back in 20 mins to confirm my interview time and the guy on the phone said he was from Lucid management. I asked him a few questions and he brushed them aside and said that it would be answered at the interview. NOW I AM VERY SKEPTICAL. But sadly I am also broke and have no way of paying the bills. I decided to GOOGLE Lucid Management and luckily the ripoff report links popped up. I am not going to the interview. I can't get my hopes up just to have them crushed because it is some kind of rip off scheme. Thanks to the guys who posted this. I hope these guys get what they deserve. I too nearly fell for this seemingly legitimate Craigslist ad. In my experience with Craigslist, not every post has the business name. Most tell where they are located, neighborhood, city, region, etc., but you usually have to inquire for the actual business name. This particular ad, posted May 18th, 2009, read like any other ad. In business 30 years, wholesale distributor, expanding to the northwest, need office help and management positions filled. I called, they set up an appointment for the next day, and I went in. The building is in a very industrial area, somewhat secluded. The building didn't sit right in my mind, but after 2 months of looking for work, I figured I'd give it a shot. Inside, it was very professional-looking, I felt like I was in an office downtown. Pop music, receptionist desk, comfy chairs, fresh paint, the works. The receptionist sat myself and three or four others down, handed us clipboards. One-page applications, with name, address, phone number, last two employers, and "how would you rate yourself 1-10/how would others rate you 1-10". Signature, and that was it. Everyone, myself included, had brought a resume, dressed for the occasion, and was hopeful for employment, as would anyone these days. We were introduced to a twenty-something named Jeremy, and were told Paul would interview us. They shuffled around, and brought us in three at a time. We went to an office down the hall with Paul, another twenty-something, and sat in front of his large desk. There were two people behind us, Paul said they were managers in training, and they were watching him, not us. He talked about the company, Syndicate Associates, and explained they were in business for 34 years, selling wholesale perfume to stores around the country, had developed in California and the east coast, and were planning a large expansion in the northwest, with 30 locations in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Arizona. He explained the jobs offered, basic receptionist/office work, and management over our own office that would eventually be built. We would be over 10-50 people in our office, and would have 8-10 weeks of training. He offered $9.00 an hour for the receptionist position, and a salary of $30,000 + bonuses for the management position. He went over our applications with each of us individually, asked us which position we would like. Before finishing up, asked what our two best qualities were, told us we would get a call by the end of the day, and sent us on our way. I got a call within two hours, saying to come back for another interview, scheduled at noon on May 21st, 2009. I had forgotten the company name, but when they called, I jotted it down. I Google'd "Syndicate Management Portland OR", expecting a company website, and instead got this and dozens of similar posts. I'm not going into the interview tomorrow, but I have notified the local news station, the Better Business Bureau, and intend to file a police report. Today, I went to the office's neighbor, Precision Equipment, a legitimate business, and asked the employees about their neighbors across the street. They told me they'd been there about three months, and about thirty people came and left through those doors. The police had only been there once, for an altercation. He said the head guy would have a warm-up meeting everyday, I believe to be the one named Jeremy, and had just been a nuisance since. They were surprised to know that I was the first person they knew of that actually took some initiative to get these guys out of town. I mentioned the news, and they half-joked "They can park their vans in our parking lot if they want!". I intend to do something about this, I know in my heart that someone in that office with me today is going to that interview tomorrow. I've seen things online connecting these people with sexual harassment, Pyramid schemes, and the Scentura scam in California. Something has to be done, especially if dirtbags are taking advantage of honest people just trying to find a job in a rough economy.
